Do we still not know what that purple gem is meant to be after all those years or have we found out an utility for this gem?

I am talking about the blue gem turning purple when you click on it in the lobby section/chat
It says a text as well when clicking on it.

The chat gem has been known for years...they even have it on the Diablo 3 website. It does nothing in my opinion, but others think it increases chances of gems and gem shrines appearing.

It does exactly what it's intended to do.

actually if you click on it enough(like 3days or so) you will get perfect gem activated
