Zei's Stone of Vengeance became popular theese days instead of Bane of the Powerful for SWK monks.
Simply i cant see any point of using Zei's Stone of Vengeance, because we are sticking, and standing exactly in the middle of the mobs. What am i missing about it?
Another question: Which stat counts as damage of EP, the stats just before we put the EP marks on the mobs or the stats we gained just before the explosion of EP. I mean it matters about the selection.
I was pretty sure there was a solo trick about not losing the EP mark when we get the ''Power Pylon'', never remark it, keep the mark with ur seven-sided kick alive to the end of the grift. So according to this trick, the important one is what you got just before u put the ep mark on mobs. So it means Zei's Stone gives nothing from the distance bonus, so it means it is useless.
A good explanation will be really helpfull about the question marks in my head.
Still doesnt make any sense, as i said, after you put the ep mark to a target, there is no way to increase the explosion damage. Otherwise, the trick you do with power pylon wouldn't work.
It's because if you are in the middle of a large group of mobs there are a lot of monsters that are spread out towards the edge of the circle. The monsters in the middle get hit with a fuckton of explosions while the ones near the outer rim get hit with fewer. Zei's Gem helps by increasing the DPS against monsters that are 30-40 yards away but are still getting hit with chained explosions. Plus, Bane of the Powerful becomes much less useful when your focus shifts from killing elites to killing dense trash.

Certain things can dynamically change the explosion damage and some things are snapshot. Power Pylon (and a few other things) is an example of increased damage that is snapshot onto your exploding palm at the time of its application vs a monster and consequential spreading.
Zei's Gem is an example of a damage buff that is dynamically applied; a monster that is 40 yards that is hit by an explosion will always take more damage than a monster that is hit by an explosion 3 yards away. Convention of Elements is another affect that is dynamically applied so it makes no difference if cold was the active element when EP was applied - only that when you pop the palm explosions you should make sure cold is active.
