1. You think you'll be able to stack mantras?
2. I've only seen the Monk use impenetrable defense with a staff. Think it will be possible with fist weapons?
The fact that he was way weak in the broll and them taking out that skill gives me a bad feeling he will be too weak.
When blizzard removes something from the game it's usually because everything else about it is good enough. Not worried about rolling a Monk as my first char.
Either Impenetrable Defense was renamed into Serenity or... actually that is all I came up with. Blizzard changing Impenetrable Defense slightly(tho this might not have happened.) and deciding to name it Serenity.
They are pretty much the same thing, the only thing we don't know is whether Serenity can reflect range attacks back at the attacker like Impenetrable Defense was able to do, or if Serenity uses the same graphics as Impenetrable Defense.
To me Serenity is just a renamed version of Impenetrable Defense and shouldn't be considered a totally different skill.
Impenetrable defense could still be in the game. All we know is that the Press Eventers were shown the Monk twirling his staff and charging forward, pushing monsters aside. This could be the new impenetrable defense, or a rune effect.

The final test of the Serpent's Form takes place in "The Pit of 12 Vipers." The initiates are not told about the 13th.
Jay Wilson just talked a bit about each class and confirmed that the "twirling his staff and charging forward, pushing monsters aside."(and it slows them down too.) is Templar Rush.
I think the difference is that impenetrable defence was a channeling spell. Imo it was a really odd skill: channeling defensive stuff barely work in slow games like mmo, imagine in D3!
Serenity just creats a shield - the monk is still allowed to move around and attack.

What's the deal with this "Serenity" skill then?
Serenity
Requires Level: 18
The Monk creates a shield that protects him from all incoming damage. Lasts X seconds.
Looks like a very similar thing?

If it's an immunity shield, does 7 Sided Strike still make you immune to everything while animating? Giving monks 2 immunity abilities?
That would be an awesome combo if thats how it works.
I was wondering about that 7sided Strike too. It seems he is moving too fast to be hit. Hm... who knows?
