For example, the Wizard's Arcane Orb skill is limited by Arcane Power, not by cast speed. Therefore fast weapons do not help Arcane Orb's damage over time only its burst damage when you empty your Arcane Power bar.
my experience is when using 2h weapon, i got hit and interrupted by monster more often then dual wielding.
This response confuses me, we have no channel moves so how are you getting "interrupted"?
interrupted, ie knockback and fear especially...
I feel it is much more easily to get knockback and feared with slower attack speed.
since the attack speed is slower, the gap between my attacks are longer, hence monster can have more chance to perform attack on me.
2H = Stronger, but slower attacks
Dual Wield = Weaker, but faster attacks
If you like the idea of playing in a way that builds lots of spirit to unload your abilities faster, then go dual wielding
If you like the idea of playing a monk with a staff that hits harder, then use a Daibo (My preferred style, the concept is just cool to me, and the Bo Staff is the weapon I trained in Martial Arts, so I'm partial)
If you play based on "what's better" and not "how do I want to play," then you just need to adjust according to whatever weapons you have available to you. You want to look at damage on the weapons, not the DPS. But to be honest, in Normal ... it doesn't matter.
DW is the best simply because of way faster spirit generation. When you get to inferno+ you will probably have FoT or CripplingWave loaded for generator, with FoT the faster the attack, the more knockbacks, the less dmg taken because you interupt their attacks (not on elites tho). More stats also for having main and offhand helps alot.
FoT is just the king of spirit generation, interupts, dmg. You can spam Mantras alot more for more damage or healing (conviction/healing 3sec boost).
dw will win out until higher gear levels where the damage on 2h weps becomes significantly greater than that of 1h weps, and then it will be based on preference/playstyle. until then you should be dw if you are aiming for maximum efficiency, spirit regen is by far the most important monk aspect
I prefer a Daibo over dw. Lot's of ppl here sayin DW beats 2h on spirit regen but that's not the case tbh. I generate spirit faster than I can use it using a spirit stone w/ 1.83 sp/s and a Daibo w/ +21% attack speed and 1.78 sp/s and the resonance passive. Alot of ppl sayin dw is better obviously haven't been to inferno because if you try to just sit in a mobs face and beat on it, you're gonna get gibbed. I'll take my 8 sp/s passive spirit gen over your dw stand and get punched in the face gen any day. While you're dying 10x trying to get away from that fire chains group, i'll be miles ahead of you since I can spam my heals on the run and tempest rush for over a minute at a time.
