staying alive isnt everything in this game... for the longest time we had no real solo DPS options.
instead we relied on item procs, and those items are now badly nerfed.
have fun spamming LTK in t4
edit: yeah ok raiment set can do some dps... but come on be real
no one really likes it, its a shitty situational build
You are wrong, I went up from t3 to t6 with the survivality changes and new attack speed on generators + new passives with IAS.
and you pls stop telling everyone they're wrong. would be better if YOU stop talking bullshit and not knowing anything. survivability won't kill the mobs, and if they don't die, they kill you no matter how long you can survive with your "new attack speed on gen+passives".
i bet it doesn't bother an elephant if a fly sits on his back. and so is the monk class at the moment. its not a ninja like killer, its the fly on the elephan(mob)
moving from t3 to t6 isn't a big thing if what all monk players are talking about is how GOD DAMN WEAK the class is compared to others while doing higher GRifts and blizzard just not doing anything to help out.

Actually on PTR I can solo T6 with a few hours playing using primaries... Maybe I can't reach tier 30 but I can solo tier 24-25, which is really good for a normal player.

I know we are not good as other classes, but we are heading in the good wa. Im managing to do solo a t6 rift without unity in about 8-10 minutes depending on the density.
Your claiming about other classes won't be enough, if you don't like Monk then go and play other class. We know that WD is the best class and no other class can do so much dmg as this one does.
Besides saying that it is wrong and wrong, you can start playing and try to compare to other Monks, becuase that is the way it is mention to work (leaderboards).

heading in a good way in nerfing the only good skills? hm yeah makes sense. i managed to do t6 even before PTR started, so no point in hyping the fact that you gloriously "worked your way from t3 to t6". t6 just isn't the level to measure how good a class is. every second-third casual player can roll t6 and it's no hot news anymore.
my claiming should be enough, because there is no point in being weaker than others and it's 100% not intended from blizzard to have classes that are as weak as monks. And be satisfied, i play other classes, at least i had played them enough to see the differences. i have a perfect jade wd, also with pets, wizard with 2-3 viable builds, a crusader and i think i just roll a demon hunter, because it's not as damn freaking weak as monk.
to "saying wrong" was ment to be for you, you say in almost every post that other persons are wrong who can't justify the crappy patch notes for monk with just a shitty increase in APS of generators ( ... GENERATORS ffs, who the f"$§ wants to play with generators, it's like if you had a lamborghini in the garage but prefer to go with roller blades)
there is also no fuggin' sense for me to compare myself to other monks, i want to see if my class is EQUAL to other classes and not HANDICAPPED.
no point in competing in paralympics if you're a healthy sports man.

'monks are in a good place right now'
at the bottom of the leaderboard aw yeah
its even worse now that furnace is gone
t6 never was a problem for monks
competing in t6 with other classes in the other hand...
well, if you enjoy tickling mobs with generators its up to you.
have fun man
madstone + sunwuko (and maybe FoE) wasnt THAT competitive with other major builds, but it felt like something
a nice item synergy, pretty much like fotf and 6px akkhan, quatz and jade or eq set and lut socks
whatever

What build are you using to accomplish 8 to 10min t6 rifts? If you can only get as far as 24~25 on Greater Rifts I don't think T6 in 8 to 10 min is doable.
After getting 5 piece mara on my dh last night I see how truly depressing monks are. rainment need to be fixed to offer something better. I am stuck at 27 grift on my monk because I just dont have the damage output.

Well M6 puts every other class to shame outside of pet WDs which does not even require a 6pc set. That is one issue DHs and Crusaders have atm, they have no viable builds outside of their 6pc sets. DHs without M6 are worse than Monks, but at least they have an option that is not only viable but very powerful. Also there is plenty of build diversity within M6.
It's pretty sad the 2 best builds involve players to:
1. not spend any resources
2. run around to avoid being hit while pets do all the damage

You obviously didn't played season and kept playing no seasonal. Before PTR I could do t6 solo too but took me a lot to get the correct items. Now on season with around 30 hours playing could do solo t6 which means a lot: a player from zero who can play t6 in 30 hours of gameplay says a lot of a class. My non seasonal Monk had around 1000 hours playing (since vanilla) and I think you do too, so it is no argument to say "I could do it too before PTR".
As the philosophy of Monks says, it is a fast-attack-class which it is obvious that me and other players too want to play with generators. So there is your answer.
I agree that we are not good as other classes, but we are heading in the correct way. Every new PTR build Monks has been getting ton of changes.
Monk needs viable high greater rift builds comparable with the builds for other classes. The only build which was good for high tier except the stupid rainment 6 set build, the sunwoko madstone SSS was destroyed by ,,fixing,, the madstone sunwoko multiple proc. There is no doubt, that it was perfectly clean, but there was no reason to nerf it because it wasnt OP. Blizzard simply removed pretty much the only good build for high torment.
Buffing spirit generators help on maybe lower tornment and max tornment 6. For high greater rifts you cant be facetanking the mobs or you die. PTR is up for ages by now and only thing blizzard was able to do is slightly improve couple of things and completly ignore the main issue, which is no competive and fluent endgame build.
Agree with you, generators buffs helps till t6, but then we can't face mobs on higher tier.

We did get a lot of decent buffs overall, still havent played around enough to figure out how great it is. Looks decent for now, but I doubt it will match a M6 DH or a Shotgun Sader.

Totally agreed. But compared Monk from live to PTR, they are 4 times better in survivality and damage (not vs zdps + rimeheart).

The biggest problem with that is that a lot of the survivability is coming from the huge boost in life on hit stats. Seeing as that is across the board, it will boost our survivability, but will not close the gap between us and the other classes.
Still there are quite a few cons:
- The new Leg. Weapon that can increase SW stacks by 7 (total stack of 10) will be a huge DPS boost.
- For lightning specc users (like me) The new EP is rather decent, clears trash like never before,
- Depth diggers are like custom made for monks
- With all the boosters for spirit generators (Depth diggers, ASPD passive, Leg. gem ) we are looking at some decent "auto" damage for monks, not to mention that this combined with the ASPD bonuses here and there will be very interesting to test out.
Only problem i can spot a mile away is that our Spirit spenders still seem to weak. They did buff us, but more the generators then the spendors. Itll be fun to see where this gets us anyway I guess =)
True story, we are in a good way compared to live Monks, but still missing damage on ours generators/spenders compared to other classes like I discussed above with Suriel.
By now I think we are OK in survivality, but still missing the DPS boost and a change to our sets.
