The zombie bridge and spirit walk wouldn't work too well.
They're good ideas, don't get me wrong. I even posted here before saying that I wanted it
Thing is, I've thought about it, and the Wizard's teleport is instant. The Barb's leap isn't instant, but it happens relatively quick, and makes up for it by doing damage. Which means his has to happen really fast.

Out of all the ideas here, I'm definitely feeling Spirit Walk as the strongest so far.
A smoke bomb thing might work as well, but that seems more the realm of an assassin/agility type character.

Well, from my part I don't think giant bugs and bats just poffs out and carries you over.
And I'm not very sure about "Spirit Walk" due to the fact that it wouldn't be a very fast mobility skill.
My idea would be that he casts Locust Swarm on himself clouding him from vision and then the swarm either moves very fast or teleports him to chosen destination.
Would be quite cool if you ask me
Yeah it would be surely cool. But it would be identical to teleport gameplay wise.
The Spiritwalk stuff is the coolest one so far. It's not necerely slow - he gets a substantial bonus to movement speed and become able to ignore the monsters and their attacks along the path.
But if you think about it, Leap and Teleport are similiar, the only difference is that Teleport doesn't do direct damage unless it's using runes.
And let's call it "Locuport" atm, would be like a cross betwen Leap and Teleport.
It could as someone mentioned above, cause a small "nova" upon landing
This is not the only difference. Teleport are instant and because of that only the wiz knows where he/she will land. The leap are slower and people can guess where it will land and avoid it.
The Locuport would be cool if it deals damage to enemy that you pass through. It's like using a bonespirit that teleports you.
I only see one big problem with this entire thread:
I highly doubt Blizzard will make it impossible to cross gaps any other way. In the Blizzcon Demo video it worked out perfect because their barbarian had ALL the skills. This was to show off the great new abilities they have come up with. Unfortunately, however, in the real game we will probably have some limit to our abilities. If someone just happens to not want to spend a point in teleport or leap attack (by chance), that would prevent them from being able to finish the game. There is going to have to be some way around.
However, on the same note, I think every class should have some sort of mobility skill. While there is inevitably going to have to be a way around gaps (unless they just give us mobility skills free without requiring a talent point), I do think that ability to cross a gap with such abilities should be allowed. If you got it, you can use it, but if you don't have it, you can't just expect people to not be able to complete the game off of that preferance selecton.

There are no stupid questions, just a bunch of inquisitive idiots.
Well, not that I'm opposed to everyone having one of these types of skills, but they did say that where ever something like this happens, where a path is rendered unusable, there will always be an alternate pathway.

Yeah. But thinking about MP that would kind of annoying to play with some dude that haven't those abilities while all the party have and want to take that shortcut.
Or they should give is this ability for free or it will be a "must have" point to any ppl playing in b.net.
I believe it was actually confirmed that the WD will have a skill that will allow it to enter the spirit world for a short period of time (i.e. 3 seconds @ first rank), allowing the WD to pass through enemies.

Yes it was confirmed in the BlizzCon 09.
Take a look at posts dates... Most are from before the confirmation.
I wonder if this spirirtwalk thing will also increase WD's movement speed. I hope so.

given the very short duration of the ability, I would imagine that it does in fact increase speed at least slightly. not clipping on anything for a short period of time seems like a very powerful idea, and coupled with a speed boost, I would think any witchdoctor would put at least one point into this ability.
