This build has constant mana regen, huge AoE and single target damage, massive health regen, and above all exploding dogs. Who could ask for more?
The build would basically use haunt and locust swarm to clear waves of weaker enemies. Most people seem to think that Haunt with that rune on it does 320% weapon damage in 1.9 seconds... but no, it actually does 320% weapon damage per second for 1.9 seconds. Which makes it quite a bit of damage output. Spam three of those and a locust swarm, you have a dead wave of dead things.
Soul Harvest provides me with increased damage and healing, and spirit walk provides me with a survive tactic and more healing. When I need a heal, I hit one of those. I can use them every 15 seconds.
Also both (assuming they actually do cost mana and it is an error in the tooltip and not an error in my passive) give me mana from the passive Rush of Essence. Haunt also gives me mana back. So really the only mana spender is Locust Swarm.
Next we have Zombie Dogs and Sacrifice. When I use sacrifice which, with 4 dogs will deal massive damage. 200% per dog. On a single target that will deal 800% weapon damage. But then I have a good chance that more dogs will spawn, and also the lost doggies will drop health globes which I can consume for even more healing.
I have considered switching Pierce the Veil to Gruesome Fest because the dogs will be dropping health globes. I haven't decided yet which is better, being that mana is no problem for me and the 20% damage buff would be constant, unlike the 10% stacking lasts 10 seconds buff.
