I just wanted to get some advice on the playstyle of dmo engery twister.
Me and my friends completed our Group Setup (monk, dmo, globe barb, WD) and tried grifts starting at 75, tooks us 35 minutes.. it was horrible. I was always resource starved and especially the rift guardian took forever.
I get it this setup is for pushing grifts not for farming. We need a perfekt rift with super high densitiy to my twisters can wreak havoc.
We were optimizing and learning to play this but we always had cave maps with almost nothing in it. So most of the time we were not able to finish in time.
When we got a good rift, we went through in a breeze. However even if we finished the trash after 5 minutes on 75 , it took me 5 minutes to down the guardian.
After that we swapped the support WD to a LON Crusader.
With this setup we were able to complete 79 and are going higher today.
So my questions now:
How to kill rifht guardians with engery twister DMO Group spec? (only dps in group)
Is this really a push build depending super hard on the grift level (density) and is thus not really viable for speed farming?
If yes, what would be a viable setup for speedfarming?
This specc works well even with farming. A lot depends on your support, like max crit w/o BP or avoid it using BP, stack high Atk speed and quite a bit of luck. Like i said not everything depends on your support, you have use the mechanics of the Twisted Sowird too. You should not just spam ET all the time, wait till you have like 8 stacks free charges and start casting then, there more twister are out, ther more dmg you deal, its bether to stop casting and wait to unleash the full potential of this item.
I die when there are more than 2 packs with ugly affixes.
Cant really jump between them for APD procs because of lag, but if i stay outside to be alive a little longer i get one shotted.
Should the barb stay near the group? if i have ignore pain i almost never die. but if he tries to gather density and i stay back with monk and wd i die.
It is probably just me being bad, however i would like to hear your oppinion.

How does it work now? We are just two players (me the wiz with comparable gear to you and a barb), and we have exactly all the problems you described.
I mostly stand and watch the rift guardian, and hope he does not oneshot me while I pray for globes to drop. It took almost 10 minutes to kill Bloodmaw on a 75 rift.
Then I have great survivability issues if we try to gather more than one elite pack in a low density rift, especially with nasty elemental damage affixes.
Right now we have better success with me going arcane orb, and him going charge. But just a look at the leaderboard tells me that we won't get very far this way.
well no changes yet as the barb still misses his istvans blade..
no luck on cube and drop..
My gems are 65 now at least. And i explicitly swapped from pain enhancer to esoteric because of dying and lags.
In huge density this gem is just ruining it. => also everybody on the leaderboards has it in. (for the lag reason)
If you die its probably because your team stays to long on single mobs and wont skip. IF you have density you can teleport and proc APD - make sure to not teleport in the same place.
However i guess it just comes down to the barb. and after that we should be able to do 80. because damage is not really a problem . if i can cast. stuff melts.
ive tried few 2s with my friend barb, he was making 2-3 globes per coe rotation on boss, and hes not really optimized. and it took me about 2 min to kill yhe boss on 80.
and just a tip, you might wanna start casting at lightning so your stacks ay max when it reaches arcane.
after following all the advice, especially changing barb build and adaopting playstyle seen in pug grift runs we know cleared 81 yesterday on the first try.
wasnt even difficult.
Iam sure that the playstyle - draggin everything into a corner makes a difference off about 20 grift levels.
Before we were not be able to do 75 in under 20 minutes. now we can do it in 5. My gear did not change, except for 500 mainstat added.
I assume we can get up to 85 before i need caldesans despairs everywhere.

i was only getting one orb every 5 to 10 seconds.

and yes of course creating densitiy were there is nothing. We do this, but we have to improve alot on this. the decisionmaking here is the problem.

Ok, we put the rift guardian in a dead end . he was litteraly cornered by three walls.
I casted arcane twister only on arcane rotation.
took us 10 minutes on grift 79 (the rift guardian alone)
I was at no point having more than 5 twisters for a very short period of time.
Only once after timer was up i gathered 10 stacks of power hungry and blew them all out on arcane rotation.
Rift guardian melted like butter - but after 5 seconds it was over.
Problem : getting these 10 stacks of power hungry took 1,5 minutes.
So even if optimizing what i can by positioning. I dont see me doing any more damage without more globes.
Could it be that my pals do not have the correct build?

The barbs using the wrong build so you guys are wasting your time. You need alot of globes for the wiz to be able to do anything.
