TL;DW (too long didn't watch): Shock Pulse - Power Affinity and Magic Weapon - Conduit. This is an interesting combo. It seems Conduit factors in your attacks/spells' proc coefficients. Power Affinity has a high one, and along with Conduit, returns a hefty amount of AP when striking multiple targets. And because Power Affinity has a high proc coefficient, APoC goes nicely with it.
Since we're using Shock Pulse, Arcane Dynamo is there to buff Star Pact. Black Hole/Frost Nova + Mirror Image for crowd control. Images can also cast their own Star Pact, which doesn't deal a lot of damage, but is still damage, nonetheless.
Usually when things are going right, Star Pact should hit for 400-600M+ against elites and 200-300M+ against general trash. Tal proc'd Star Pacts generally hit in the 100-200M range... awesome considering it's free damage!
Buffed with Harrington, Dynamo, and utilizing the new Swami (extended Archon damage buff when Archon wears off), it's common to see Star Pact nukes of 600 million to over 1 billion damage against elites. And this is solo, so no WD BBVs, DH Companion buffs, etc. included.
Examples of 1 billion+ damage Star Pact:

Problem I'm dealing with right now is that the build is sooo squishy outside of Archon form. Gonna need some brainstorming sessions to figure out how to arrange the gear for this outside The Swami and 4-piece Vyr's. It's easier to play than the first build because there's no need to stutter step Hexing Pants. Just a lot of timing and picking opportunities.
Looks awesome from the screenshots (can't watch video right now). Gonna try this out at some point. Although I don't like the Meteor delay too much, but I guess the lightning Meteor's damage is just not high enough.

As a second char I'm considering going Monk. I like some of the changes, and I think running in a group with monk will be mandatory. 40% all resist buff? Oh yes! If no monk is up for it, I might offer my service. And offers great healing as well. So... I think the best defense will be to make sure that you get at least one class in group who can provide you with defensive buffs. And/or tank, of course.
Sweet. Thanks for testing and sharing the results. Do you think it will be worth it to just go for teleport calamity and cast it in the beginning of a fight where you typically have full AP anyway? Maybe there's no need to go for meteor at all and just a high AP regen + AT / Disintegrate + Archon (arcane) based build? Since calamity stuns, you will basically have a higehr chance of the meteor actually hitting.
For build #2 could you play with a rimeheart to clear trash and save the nukes for elites. Then you'd be able to stack a little more mitigation I think. Might be worth it.
Isnt there another spell you can use so you dont have to be in melee range? I feel that if you could stay at range, you wouldnt be so squishy. Reapers wraps would be nice with this build also.
I'm not getting Tal's to proc off or Thunderfurry any more. Is this a bug or did they change this?
No item procs are triggering Tal Meteors at all. Not Thunderfury, not Moonlight Ward, etc. Unsure if this is a bug or an intended change. If it is an intended change, I don't get it.

Likely intended. They generally dont like procs proc'ing other procs.

I was testing Meteor in the latest 2.1 PTR build.
Bad news first: Everything is underwhelming.
Good news: Well, everything except for Star Pact.
My god. Star Pact.

Yep, this is true. Arcane Dynamo is not working as stated via the tooltip. It's double dipping and overbuffing.

Bummed
*necro*
Any way this can be applied to Tal's 2.2?
I love arcane and esp star pact but I don't know how viable it would be in a fast paced group scenario. Seems to require a lot of windup for one KO
