Hey Im fairly new to the posting thing(on here) I really like the angel theroy but I just wanted to point out the order of things in the last games that makes sence to the new game. In diablo 1 diablo possessed a small child then in d2 is was the warrior I think it makes complete sence that in this one it possess an angel on the high council. I have not read the books yet but from what I was reading here it seems like it makes sence how can diablo be stronger then the last 2 games I mean he was beaten both times and I dont think hes planning on possessing a mortal again just doent make sence. The picture show an angel bursting into flames and changing form and another person(or angel) being pushed by the power surge. How can you be able to cast out another angel? Why is there a firey blaze and why that spot? Diablo choose that spot from diablo maybe he is going there to get something he left behind if soemthing went wrong.
So are you talking about Diablo or the High Heavens?
For Diablo, you underestimate him too much. Who's not to say that teh apst events of D1 through D2: LoD isn't some master plan by all the Prime Evils including the aid of Izual? Prime Evils do not have to use the same corpeal form over and over again as you have seen trhough D1 and D2
For the High Heavens and Angels being cast out, I theorize that the 'angel bursting into flames' is in fact the Archangel Tyrael by Imperius with the rest of the Angiris Council behind him.
"The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary
To defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – And even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself."

Tyrael being the comet in the cinematic warning the denizens of the Sanctuary to prepare before the onslaught of both the High Heavens and the Burning Hells upon their world
I agree but i think diablo takes over the angel Imperius and casts out Tyrael in a blaze of a flame. That woud explain the dramatic entrance by Tyrael.
"Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens
strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world.
The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary To defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – And even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself."
That suggests the meteor is indeed an angel from heaven.

Could be. It could be Tyrael being thrown from heaven by Imperius.
It could be Imperius falling from heaven.
It's all pretty uncertain right now.
