I know this was talked about in another thread but it was closed for some reason... I like the idea of capes and/or cloaks... they could be class specific for example the Barbarian would look pretty kick ass with a regular type cape / cloak, whereas the witchdoctor would look more suitable with a scarf / sholl sorta thing around his shoulders...

If they had stats or anything they'd have to make every other item weaker to balance things out.
Too far a long in the game to be adding new items I think, though I don't hate the idea.
well who knows they might even be in the game for all we know... we've only seen maybe 0.01 % of an unfinshed game.. I'm sure there will be lots of new surprises creeping up all the time right up until release...

Yeah and maybe some have special powers that give your character the ablity to fly/hover/float around and deal damage from above, draining your mana of course.
I'd like to see capes with clan tags only, something you have on if you are in a clan and will have your clan icon on it.
that would be great, but I dont want them to have any added effects or magical attributes.

Yeah, I had a thread about this but people turned it into a 'flaming' argument on what they thought about shoulder-pad armor. But I definately think that capes/cloaks would be real nifty wearable items. They could be class specific for the most part and maybe have a few general styles for everybody. They could add to the armor stats of your character if they were considered the same class of item as shoulder-pads - aka minimally protective, mostly used for character modification, shoulder worn armory. And its not like they would be a completely new thing since they were used in Diablo 1 (slightly different context).
I agree....could you see a magic wielder with shoulder pads bigger than his own head like on the barb? I beleive this will actually be implemented in a cloak form w/e for classes that dont go into direct combat. I mean i could see a cape on something like a paladin but it would have to be done correctly to prevent that cheesey cartoonish super hero look.

not a bad idea at all....BUT i do think if everyone is constantly wearing a robe / cape, it kinda takes away from that feel. I think these should be reserved for the magic class they give us...and not only do i think it should be, but i can bet you we will see that happen. I loved the unique robe i found in D1 lol.
I think it'd be cool if once you completed the game on all difficulties you got a robe that you could wear that made you look like the wanderer. No stats just for fun, to show off a little.
I thought about it, but no. I rather that for each difficulty you beat, you get a special equiptment piece (no stat) to change your look a little. With all 3 pieces on, you might have 6 tendril of light (like Tyrael) behind you, or 6 spikes (like diablo), or something. Like for each difficulty, you get 2...and it tied to the character (so you can't buy it, :D)
some of the ideas here really lack thought. Adding equip slots per difficulty? You guys seriously think that is an option Blizzard would even consider? Sounds bad just by talking about it.
You wouldn't have to rebalance the game because of an additional equip slot, sigh.
Having a cloak doesn't mean your whole caracter is covered in it. Ever read any comic books?
Cloaks would be a cool additon only if they are affected by the Havok system. Nothing like those god awful hand animated cloaks from WoW.

Who said anything about adding equip slots per difficulty? O.o
The slots should be there to begin with...you just don't have anything that can equpt there. You earn the item by beating difficulty (only type of item that fit the slots, understand?)
And if the item doesn't add anything to the stat....you see where I'm going with this? Go back and read the post you 'attempted' to reply to. Rebalance? O.o
Cloak does cover everything, I'm talking about this
Cloaks similar to that which was worn by the wanderer would be interesting.
Again, go back to read ....everything, before you attempt to reply to it.
Did you know that the wanderer was the warrior in Diablo 1? Did you remember that he's fully equipted with heavy armor in the ending? Did you remember that the cloak he wore cover everything but his face and hand? O.o
Don't reply if you don't know what you replying to.

Possibly but I dunno.
Maybe see them in the expansion? That'd be sweet.

Just imagine:D
When you use the horadric cube the stats of the two items are added together and makes a more powerful weapon or item.

Batman is more kick ass than Superman who change clothing on telephone both.
barb wearing a cape = not cool
Hah, I wouldn't want to look like the dark wanderer. This would cover up any shiny armor I have on = sux.
