The group of adventurers entered the supposed location of the tomb of King Storhm III of Tethyr, and were met by a man dressed in robes. He appeared to be searching for something amongst the rumble.
"So there is sanity in all of this madness. If you are not in reague with the evil sat dwells in sis unhory prace, Shikyomaru begs your assistance. I am rooking for an ancient scroll." said the man.
"Let me guess, the scroll of the life of King Strohm III of Tethyr?" said Sir Elric.
"How did you know?" asked Shikyomaru.
"Samia. She has recruited us to find the this scroll." Balgarath replied.
"Samia recruited me for sis task too sen it seems, ret us search togeser. Be doubry careful, I’m sure all manners of stupid mouse traps await our toes in the dark!" said Shikyomaru.

If any where to look about the Monk was none to be found. Somehow even with a mule in tow he had managed to simply vanish from the group. Where had he gone? Would he come back? Is the monk the one that has been relaying all the information about the group to their foes? No one knows.

Carloseus drew his sword, split it into two and grew alert. Too many new strangers, and now the monk was gone. Nothing good happened when things changed at a rapid pace.
"I feel much the same way, Carloseus" said Sir Elric. "where men gather, a bustling chaos ensues, but if their intentions are noble and just, we could do far worse than to let them accompany us."

As we begin to enter the tomb we come upon another that Samia has sent in to recover the scrolls- confirming in my mind there is definitely something more to these scrolls than merely a tale of the life of a king.
I tense as a breeze blows past us bringing up foul odors. Carloseus has drawn his swords he must be getting the same feeling of unease as I am feeling. I place my hand on the hilt of my dagger - it may get too tight in this tomb for my staff to be effective.
"Zubin stay close - do not stray - and do not go charging into fight."

Zubin looks at Cinara and says : ''Don't worry my lady, I just want to defend myself. I'm not here with a motive to kill.'' and then ends the conversation with a mild smile.
He walks quietly just when a wierd feeling makes his hair stand. He turned towards Cinara and said : ''But my lady. Attack is the best defense'' and pulls out his Darklaw.

Some would argue that, Zubin my... Acquaintance? Friend? I'll go with friend. You see, if you fight from a stronghold, well, leaving it on a sortie may end the battle quicker, but it may also cost you the lives of your troops. If you fight from a position where you have many more troops than the enemy, however, and they have no significant fortification, a quick overwhelming strike may be best. All based on the situation." said Thufir, drawing his short swords "But when fighting, say, orcs, always attack first. One goes down, the rest turn and flee."
"If you get in quick enough Thufir yes they will flee." Sir Elric said. "but once they get a taste for blood, they are like a completely different creatureentirely, they will not flee, nor surrender, they are so drive by the thirst they will take any pain you can inflict upon them. Many in my Order tell tales of encounters with orcs where even after they had their arms cut off they still came at my fellow paladins. Let us hope we do not run into any such orcs."
As they continued into the tomb they came to a complex of small interconnection rooms and corridoors. SUddenly a creature appear hovering in the air.
"I am the gate keeper. Here is the fallen King, laid low by his enemies as The Year of The Burning Sky fell to The Year of the Harvest of Scales. My eyes see all to guard as I should. You are not of the scale, but you are also not of the family. You have passed the door, but shall not go further. Down, down to the ground in reverence for the dead." spoke the creature. "Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio" A mass of flame shot out in all directions. eminating from the Efreeti.

"Anyone have anything cold?" shouted Thufir as he dived through a doorway, grabbing Zubin on his way "If so, throw it at him. Split up, don't get it an open area, he'll wipe us all out together. Small groups, at least one trained warrior in each group, try to get it in a small room with stuff to hide behind, it'll make it harder for him to use his magic on us."
Thufir decided to take his own advice and looked for something to take cover behind as the Efreeti roared with rage.
Zubin dug into his bag and took out a green bottle. ''Hey Thufir, i've got this. Nothing cold but it may stop him fo a moment'' he said. ''Don't ever try to use that exploding potion i gave you.'' he added and bent down behind a broken pillar.

Holding swords downright by the handles, Carloseus uses his oversized weapons as a shield against the barrage of fire.
"Cinara! Zubin! Find some cover!" he yells, and waits anxiously, timing his attack carefully. A blast hits his swords, and he runs forward, deflecting any attacks coming his way.
"Cupio, Virtus, Licet Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio!" cited Carloseus. He had no idea what the outcome would be, he had never done an enchantment spell during battle, much less combined with one of evocation. His target was his swords, as he merged them in one and they became as if ice and radiated a blue aura.
He drew closer to the guardian and swung, the guardian parrying his attack with a flaming sword he summoned from thin air. The attacking warrior soon took heavy hits that almost broke his strength, but this gave the others a chance to regroup and turn on the offensive.
"A little help?!" he yelled. Before him the gate keeper moved around in the air, attacking with inhuman speed and strength.
Thufir jumped up, drawing his daggers "Sure thing boss..." said Thufir, throwing two as he ran. One sunk into the beasts neck, but not far, and the other harmlessly clattered off. "Damn thick skins" he groaned, drawing his blades and plunging into the battle. Ducking a firece swing of the Efreeti, Thufir charged and, rolling by the beast's smoke-like hind quarters, he plunged his swords into it's kidney region with all his might, quickly getting out of harms way behind a column of stone to prepare his next attack.
While they keep the Efreeti busy I slowly make my way so that its back is to me - I might be able to land a blow from behind. Noticing that Thufir's daggers had little effect I ready my staff.
Thufir has stabbed it in its kidney region - it lets out a roar and bends slightly in pain. Now is my chance, I thrust my staff into same area to maximize the pain, penetrating that thick skin and quickly yank it free as it whirls around to face me, its eyes ablaze as he prepares to let loose another fire blast.

"Taste se cord steel of my brade!" yelled Shikyomaru as he leaped into the air and plunged his katana into the beast's chest.
The Efreeti recoiled in excrusiating pain.
"Fire demon! you are no match for my sword of se snow!" cried Shikyomaru.

The guardian now rearing back in pain, Carloseus sees his chance.
"Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio!" he yells with a palm pointed at it, and a torrent of frosty energy flows out. Dragging the beam of ice now shooting out of him Carloseus moves it from the ground to the beast, bonding it to the ground and then reinforces the ties with more ice.
As it stops he feels the cost of his action, but holds strong as he walks over to the beast with the cold blade in hand. He holds up the other hand for everyone to stop attacking as their foe roars in anger, too damaged and restricted to do anything but wait for death.
"Guardian you do your job well, but we must pass. Ahead is an unseen guardian we must defeat as well, tell me how to defeat it and I shall dispense you quickly." he speaks as Sir Elric walks up behind him.
"I will not tell you, demonslayer. Those are secre- AUUGHHH!!!!" a giant blade of ice peirces his shoulder. Carloseus looked at Elric, who nodded.
"We asked not for anything other than how to defeat them. Now tell us." demanded Sir Elric.
"The key to slaying the last is in the first." it growls. Carloseus raised his blade high, and brought it down and putting an end to the first of the 7 guardians.
"What do you think he meant by that?" he asked.
"If you had not killed him so quickly, we could have gotten some information from him." said Sir Elric as he shook his head.
"I had a feeling that was all he was going to say, so I saved us some trouble. Now let me get some rest before we move on, that last attack took much of what I had left. Not bad eh?" he asked as he sat down and rested his back on the ice buildup around their fallen foe.
Hands Carloseus an herb to chew on to help in regaining his energy.
I sit back and ponder the riddle given to us, "The key to slaying the last is in the first."

As the group contniued to ponder the riddle given to them, the second guardian appeared.
"Come! Come and listen to my damnable speech. Hear what I must say due to terms of service. Then you shall die out of duty and out of hate. I am a guardian of the King that has fallen. Here lies he that cleared the air, that pulled the scale with his life and limb. Here lies he that saw the fire, and here lies ye that would disturb his rest!" It said.

"I-" he thought better of trying to have an argument with the now mute skeleton. "Never mind. So... What do we do now?"
