"Yes, they can crush a man's skull with their hands easily, and fairly resistant too, had a few run-ins with them in my younger days, damn creatures took everything I could dish out, and still would not go down, though I was much weaker back then, Ogres are strong yes, but not the brightest of creatures though" said Sir Elric.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
"Sounds like Kennedy back there," said Venex, walking faster than the others to keep up, being one of the shorter people there. Johnny trotted along beside him and Kennedy lumbered in the distance. "He's strong, but he definetely isn't that smart. After the fight last night I found him out back fighting a tree." He shook his head in amusement. "Oh well. I can be the brains, he can be the braun."
He noticed Zubin lagging behind the others and decided to go back and walk with him. He had seen little of the man since the night before and wondered how he was healing up. "Zubin!" he said, cheerfully. "Have you ever heard of an Ogre before?"
Zubin heard what Venex said and answered : ''Yeah. I've seen my father battling with some. They just got control of my father for some time but he recovered using his intelligence. Seems like the ogres are dumb.''
He continued : ''Why do you ask? Don't tell me we are going to encounter some, aah, my leg hurts me.''.

"Ogres?" The monk questioned. "Sir Elric did you say we are facing ogres?"
The monk hastened his step to catch up to the paladin and the necromancer. Zarym the mule did not like walking faster but did just the same at the end of his line. The packs on his back groaned and clanked as he quickened his step to keep up with the monk.

"Ah, ogres. have not yet had the pleasure of slaying one, though I was close. Perhaps now after more experience and better weaponry I can be victorious to one of those beasts."
Carloseus seemed thrilled, ogre's were among the strongest brutes to battle, swift and decisive blows were the deciding factor on slaying one, not strength. He would not outsmart it though, Carloseus had in mind to make it a battle of his strength against an ogre's. A stupid idea to many, and to himself as well considering he was of weaker appearance, but he wanted to set a goal and do his best to achieve it, if the plan backfired on him he would simply change strategy.
"Sir Elric, whom exactly will the money go to, and what amounts will go to whom?" asked Carloseus.
"You've not slain an ogre? And you hope that you can this time around? I don't guess we will be offering up a peace treaty to said beasts. You know, leave and we wont have to kill you?"
The monk holds the lead to Karym the mule and continues to walk with the group.

"It was several years back, I ran into one of the brutes and with little experience I had a difficult time killing it. A partner of mine found me and he stole my kill while it was still attacking me. I was not overpowered, simply not informed of where or how to slay one." he replied quickly as he stayed attentive at Sir Elric's response to his earlier question.
"My, my.. He stole your kill?" The monk shook his head and opened his mouth to say something and then dismissed the idea. Some of these men are real brutes I guess. More worried about a number of bodies than accomplishing a goal of some sort of significance.

Noticing Zubin still limping from the bar fight - I work my way back to him to give him an herb to help with the healing process.
"Here Zubin, chew on this for a bit, it will help ease your discomfort."
Upon hearing all the talk of ogres makes me think of how little experience I have had in dealing with them.
"Everyone - I think it would be a good idea to get in some more sparring time so we are better able to bring the ogres down. Also, for those that have had experience with them in battle could you please share your stories so the rest of us can gleam how best to put in a killing blow."

Zubin thanks Cinara for her kindness. He says : ''You're not the only one with less experience here. Once a ogre caught me when i was seeing my father battle them. He gave me a hard blow of which the pain lasted for months. My father saved me from him, or should i say it. I don't think i would like to see one again. I wonder why people are waiting to meet some of them. Either they're too courageous or too much of a fool.''
He then digs his hand in his bag and takes out a kind of white bread. He offers some to Cinara in a neat way with the breads being held by some white cloth.

"Well I've never faced one before, and I'm not looking forward to it. I guess it's for a good cause though, and we are being payed handsomely. Hopefully Kennedy will be able to protect me from them while I stand back and aid from a distance. I've never been all that good at melee fighting myself."
He watched as Cinara took the bread offered by Zubin, then turned his attention away. Something was still on his mind. Something was bothering him, and it was about time he learned the truth.
Walking over to his skeleton companion, Venex looked him up and down. Johnny walked with an air of confidence. His blank white features shone dimly with mist, and his blade flashed as he walked. "So, Johnny..." began the Necromancer, cautiously. "Where exactly were you for so long?" Johnny turned and seemed confused. "You know, back in the city? You're not supposed to be able to disobey you know, and I'm pretty sure I told you to stay there. What's going on here?"
He noticed that other people were beginning to look at him as if he'd gone crazy. He dropped some of his tension and dropped his voice to a nervous whisper. "Come on. I want the truth. No more of this trickery. What are you, really?"
The skeleton looked at him and then away again. "I," he spoke very softly, "am not what you think I am. But I am not here to harm you." The Necromancer was wide-eyed with shock, his mouth gaping. Somehow his legs kept moving, keeping pace with the group.
"I am a spirit, sent by a Priest of Rathma to guard over you, young Venexicus." Spoke the skeleton quietly, so as not to be heard. "They did not want their star pupil to be lost to some gang of fallens, after all. I know this may take some time for you to understand, but just know that although I am limited in strength and form, my spirit remains loyal and unquenchable. I shall forever be your friend and comrade."
Venex finally couldn't handle it anymore. This was too much all at once for him. "In the name of Rath-" he dropped like a rock, face first into the mud.
Zubin saw Venex falling and walked immediately to help him. After approaching him Zubin realized that there was no way to help him. He said : ''Johnny. What happened?. Oh you can't talk.''.
He held one of Venex's hand and tried to pull him up but instead fell himself into the mud.
''Aaaaa'h. It smells bad. What the hell just happened?'' HE said and waited for a helping hand.

Venex gurgled inaudibly. Johnny reached out his hands and, with one around the Necromancer's collar, and the other around Zubin's outstretched hand, pulled them both from the muck. He put Venex back on his feet and walked off to join Kennedy at the rear. Zubin was forced to support Venex's weight. The smell of the mud was not pleasant.
"What is it with the mud around here?" choked Venex suddenly. "It all smells as bad as Kennedy!" Then he laughed.
The monk watched the two fall into the mud. He stopped walking with the group and he and Karym the mule turned back to the two men. He walked out over the mud and made sure that the feinted man was not suffocating in the dirt.
"What's wrong with him? Does he have a history of feinting?"

''Man. I'm hurt, full of blood, hungry and dirty now.'' Zubin said. ''It looks as is every animal comes here anually to goo.'' he added. Everybody laughed. ''Venex, you know. Now we smell worse than Kennedy. Thanks to Johnny.'' he spoke with a disgusting look.
''I guess we'll have to let the mud dry. There's no water around. Just the dirty one'' Venex said.
They saw everyone moving but were a bit less worried beacuse they weren't alone. Zubin approached towards Johnny and said : ''So, what just happened?'' then with a panic he said : ''Why do i keep asking you?''.

The skeleton shrugged and seemed to smile for a moment. Venex and the monk were walking together, and the group's morale seemed to be decidedly high - despite the looming conflict with ogres ahead. "Come on Zubin!" shouted the Necromancer, coming to terms with what he learned. "Maybe we can find some fresh water along the way. Or maybe," he said, looking up at the growing clouds, "it will rain."
Zubin seemed to be a little irritated for a moment. ''I'll be glad if it does. My body is itching'' He said. He looked at the monk and said : ''You got a pretty nice mule there. Can i talk to him?'' he looked confused and said : ''Oh my god the hunger is making me mad, first i talk to Johnny and then to this mule.''
He looked up in the sky and said : ''Yeah i guess it'll rain in a few moments'' ''Let's make out steps faster'' he added.

Zubin approached the mule and said : ''Hello buddy, i hope you like me'' the mule came nearer and rubbed his head against Zubin's waist. ''You see that?'' Zubin asked to the monk. ''I wonder if he's the only one liking me'' he added. ''I think i never really had a meeting with Kennedy actually'' he added further.
He approached Kennedy and suddenly shocked him from behind. The golem punched him in the ribs making him fall down again. Both the men stopped to help him. They opened their mouths to say something but Zubin inturrepted and said : ''Help me. No further comments.''
