"Damnit! Everyone prepare!" Carloseus cursed as he jumped up and kept his blade handy. He chewed on the herb given to him by Cinara, but if he attacked now it would completely drain him and he could not risk that.
"Cinara, stay close." he said to her, keeping himself in front of her and the new threat further ahead.
"It would seem that Shikyomaru is the only one here that can hurt it." said Sir Elric. "The rest of us will keep it busy so he can land a killing blow"
"A good pran paradin, ret us do sis!" Shikyomaru said.
He gripped his katana tightly and darted around the edge of the group.

"Good enough I suppose." spoke Carloseus, and he walked closer to the guardian, careful not to get within physical range of an attack. His energy was returning swiftly now, but he would need more time.
I decide that since it worked on the first Efreeti it may work on this one, I slowly work my way behind the second guardian. I ready my stance, pull my staff in and thrust forward into its back and pulling quickly out.
It roars out and turns to face me, rage in its eyes.

Damnit Cinara! Carloseus thinks as he finds her attacking it. How, when did she get past me?! he wonders. He runs forward and lets fall his heavy blade on it, another roar escapes it as it lashes at me. Its first attack I dodge, the second I was not so lucky as it breaks my strength and I am forced to the ground.
Venex reaches for his new dagger but instead finds something he had forgotten tucked away in his vest. Back in the battle of Dun-Craig, Zubin had given Venex a potion bottle that he had never explained. It was orange and had a mild glow that hinted at some forbidden magic within. Venex thought better of wasting it now and instead pulled forth his dagger. He ran to the guardian and joined the others in the fray. He watched as the tall man was struck down by the guardian. "Elric!" he cried in desperation.
But Sir Elric was busy enough. As Shikyomaru prepared his deadly blow, Elric was bravely fending off attacks from the efreeti, placing himself in the way of danger. Venex turned to the tall man and realized that this would be his chance to pay back his dept to the man who had saved his life so many days ago. Racing through the fray, dodging swords and fire, he made his way to the tall man, grabbing him and dragging him out of harms way.
"Alright, here," he said, handing the man the herb he had dropped. "Lady Cinara said this would help you, right? Well I'd recommend you eat it then." He smiled, hoping not to seem too youthful or dumbstruck. The man nodded and took the herb, keeping a wary eye for Cinara. Venex turned to see what was happening. The healer was holding her own, and the tall man seemed pleased to see it. Shikyomaru was nearing his attack.
"Come on," said the Necromancer, extending his hand to the tall man. "We may yet be able to help them." The man took his hand and stood. They both turned and returned to the fight, shouting with a lust for victory.
"Lady Cinara, get back!!!" Sir Elric yelled as he run to assist Carloseus.
"Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio" chanted the Efreeti, as he send a torrent of flame towards Sir Elric.
But Vasallus steeped in the way to protect them by taking a direct hit from the flames. "I thank you, my metal friend" Sir Elric said. Vasallus just nodded his head in acceptance.
"HIYAAAH!!!!" Shikyomaru yelled as he came from behind a backstabbed the Efreeti, with his katana.
Much like the first one, the beast recoiled in pain.
"Doesn't any of you have any ice magic?" Shikyomaru asked.
"another strange piece of metal?" said Balagarath. "It would appear that each felled guardian drops one, there is no other explaination, though I still have no idea what they are."

Sir Elric and Carloseus distract the Efreeti enough for me to get away without coming to any harm.
I go back to where Zubin is waiting, and hold him back as he tried to charge forward to help.
"Be still Zubin, Shikyomaru will take care of it with his cold steel blade."
As the second Efreeti dies another piece of strange metal appears. Hmmm, maybe they are part of a key to unlock the tomb or maybe to unlock a compartment where the scrolls would be kept.
"Sir Elric, Carloseus how do you fair? Do you need healing or an energy boost?"

"I am quite alright, m'lady" replied Sir Elric. "Though Shikyomaru, may need some refreshing, if he is to take out another four more guardians, and then we are still left with the last one."

"Another piece..." Thufir mused. He thought out loud, "The key to the first is the key to the last... Maybe the metal will dispell the enchantment, make it solid, something... Hmm..." He pondered also the cryptic words of the second foe, "He kills us out of duty and hate, simple enough, but what of what he said afterwards... 'Here lies he that cleared the air, that pulled the scale with his life and limb. Here lies he that saw the fire, and here lies ye that would disturb his rest!' Any thoughts? I'm thinking about clearing air, but I can only come up with getting rid of deceit..."
"I think he was referring to us, prehaps as corpses, here we lay, dead, sort of thing. replied Balgarath. "That or he is referring to the dead king. I am not sure, despite my many years of arcane study and researching oddities, I am afraid, riddles were never my strong suit."

Gets my waterskin out, "Here, Shikyomaru take this waterskin. I have placed some energy and strength boosting herbs in the water and they have been soaking for awhile. The potion should be good and strong." He takes a long swig and hands it back, "No you keep it the rest of it, it seems we have a few more Efreet to go up against and you will need to keep your strength and stamina up. Running into you has turned out to be fortuitous for us, if it weren't for your cold blade we would be having a hard time of it."

Tunes everyone out as he meditates, concentrating his mind on recovering his body and energies as well as solving the puzzle. They look like they connect each other to form an object. he thought. As he felt his energy recover he returned from dwelling in his mind.
"Lets move on, we don't want to waste too much time as we know we have to fight more of these things. The faster we kill them all, the faster we can get out of here." he said, standing up and placing his gigantic sword on his back.
''Hmmm, i guess we should try to find more about these creatures before we proceed. As we know that the forthcoming demons will be even dangerous.'' Zubin exclaimed.

The tomb narrowed to a bredth of no more than two men wide.
"The narrowness prevents the possibility of flanking." Sir Elric said. "Shikyomaru, you had best take the lead"
Shikyomaru nodded and moved to the front of the group.
Then the third guardian appears just as suddenly as the previous two had.
"I am a guardian; I rot with the bones of a King. His rule pulled the Scale, for he alone saw the coming fire. He gave his life to the fire, to weaken the Scale and triumph in death. None shall follow, save those that see as far and as clear as he." said the guardian as it posed itself to strike.

As we move onward towards our goal - the tomb halls start to become narrower. "Zubin, we had better stay to the rear this time, these close quarters will not allow for mistakes to be made, and we cannot afford to lose anyone in our party."
Another Efreeti has appeared, let us hope that he can be dispatched quickly.
"Let us try to work on solving the riddles Zubin, we can at least do that much for now."

Shikyomaru fell to his knees after he had dispatched the third guardian.
"damn beasts." said while breathing heavily. "I need rest."
"And you shall have it." Sir Elric said. "If another one appears, we shall do our best to keep it occupied while you regain your strength."

"Thufir, Zubin help Shikyomaru up and put him over here against the wall."
"Do you have any of the energy drink left in the waterskin?", I ask Shikyomaru.
"There is rittle reft", he wearily replies.
"If you like I can lay my hands upon you and help heal and revive your muscles, I know the elixer doesn't taste very well?" "That would be fine m'lady." As I lay my hands upon him I start my chant, "Om tara tuttare, ture so ha." My hands begin to glow as the healing process begins. As I finish I stand and notice that he has fallen asleep. He will be fine back here out of the way of harm.
After finishing up with my healing I turn to group - "One of you please give me your waterskin so I can make some more energy boost elixer - we are going to need more." Starts preparing the herbs to add to the water.

As the group rested, thefourth guardian appeared, catching them unawares.
"Grr... I am a guardian. Many the Drow did fall in the cleansing, but red came a Wing to their call and their aid. Burn did the sky with rage and fire, until plucked from the air by the hand of a King. He saw the weak and scarred underbelly, he saw the path to the source of the fire. The path past the fire leads to rest well deserved, the path past the fire is clear to his eyes" it said.
"No rest for se wicked aye!" said Shikyomaru as he grabbed his Katana with both hands.

As I was preparing a new batch of the energy boost elixer another Efreeti appeared all of a sudden.
I threw my dagger at him - just barely piercing its torso. The Efreeti looked at the dagger and just brushed it away. Shikyomaru jumped up from his brief respite to fight this new one off.
As they fought I saw an opening to jab it's side with my staff making sure to plunge it in deeply, using all my strength. The Efreeti let out a roar and Shikyomaru took this opportunity to land a debilitating blow, but it wasn't over yet.
