"In order to keep the Knights of the Burning Blade going, we need a war chest. If we cannot add to it via payment, we must add to it with the spoils of war." Buliwyf replied. "Secondly, building a reputation is never a bad thing, it can lead others to look more favourably towards us, and offer more generous rewards."
Mordwythe regarded Buliwyf silently for a moment. "Fair enough." He then turned to the door, "Then the tacticians can plan their play, and I, not being so, will retire to a rather welcoming-looking cushioned chair on the dais of the church."
Kifu jumped back down from the wagon and walked over to the grouping of the mercenaries planning out the attack.
"Let's just go. We can decide what to do once we get there. Hell, we don't even know the full situation until we get there."
Kifu walked back over to the wagon and jumped back into the driver's seat.
"Everyone get on your horses or load up on the wagon. It's about time we made our way over there to show these Riddians what we are made of. My "zombie dogs" are starving for some fresh flesh and I am afraid if we don't feed them soon they will turn on you guys for their meal...hahaha."

"I have laid my plan before you." said Buliwyf. "I wait for those who will join me, as some of you have said, you are under no obligation to do this. Assuming there is no more objections, the only thing that remains is to decide whom shall fill which roll. The portion that moves along the river will need to be small so as to move undetected, they will need to be quick of feet, and travel light."
Buliwyf sat up in his chair holding the hilt of his sword in his left hand with the broad of his sword facing the group and its point firmly on the ground.
"While we will be working as a whole to attack the outpost to procure your disguises for entering the western gate, you will not have the luxury of support from the brunt of our forces. You must emplore guile, cunning, and swiftness. You must get to the gate house quickly, and open it for the main group. You will no doubt have to fight your way to the gate house, but we cannot afford to split our two forces evenly. Horses and carts leave many tracks, as does a large group of people. So the only question that remains is who among you wishes to attack the western gate."

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
"No, it will take at least 3 people in disguises to get them to open the western gate." replied Buliwyf. "In addition at least 2 score of us will be waiting in the woods by the western gate for those of you in disguise to secure the western gate to allow the others through before opening the main gate for the rest of us."

"I will go to the Western gate and help open the gate for the rest."
Viktor stood up from the table and held his book in his hand with his crossbow and mace holstered on his back.
"I travel light and my crossbow might help to silently kill some of the guards. I will welcome anyone else who decides to come with me."
Viktor looked around at the other mercenaries and saw a great deal of many other skilled fighters who would be more suitable for the job.
"If I am not the most useful for this task, I understand. I am willing to offer my services if needed. Effort is the one thing I can offer."
"In addition at least 2 score of us will be waiting in the woods by the western gate for those of you in disguise to secure the western gate to allow the others through before opening the main gate for the rest of us."
Mordwythe regarded the plan momentarily, mulling it over in his mind, massaging his chin as he thought. "Well, stealth has never been my forte, I would prefer a position in the woods beyond the west gate, I believe."
The portion that moves along the river will need to be small so as to move undetected, they will need to be quick of feet, and travel light."
"I will attack the western gate along with Viktor. I am light on my feet and can hit them from far or close, whichever will get us there undetected."

"I will lead the small group that enters through the western gate." Buliwyf said. "We must make it to the north gate at all costs."
"Lento will lead the main force in the assault of the north gate." he said. "Ride in when i blow this horn, signalling you to attack."

Kira secures her weapons tighter to her body to prevent any noise from issuing out, while also making sure everything is readily available.
"Alright Buliwyf, Let's go kill some soldiers for our disguises."
"I am ready as well Buliwyf."

"Well Lento, It looks like you are stuck with me...hahaha. So what should I do while we wait for them? Should I start collecting some materials to make flags and standards? I remember part of the plan as Buliwif said "Meanwhile the majority of our force will be concertrated here.Gathering what we can, we will fashion many flags and standards, creating the illusion we have more numbers than we actually have.".

"What standard would you raise? We're not an army, we're a rag-tag bundle of mishaps that happened upon each other by chance, and we're mercenaries. It will not be necessary."
Mordwythe thinks for a moment. "Although... Buliwyf did say that we are trying to make a name for ourselves, so, maybe it would be a good idea."
Mordwythe turns his gaze round, looking for the current leader. "Buliwyf, I crave your indulgence. Where would it be best for me to come in to this picture?"
"What about any prisoners?" Warick inquired. "If any of them are skilled in combat they could be of use to us in future battles," he continued "Also when we assault the western gate, after we kill the guards do you want us to keep a low profile on the way to the gate house or charge in with our swords unsheathed?"
"Then It is settled. Those of you who are to attack the western gate with me, ready your things, we leave within the hour." said Buliwyf
"What about any prisoners?"
"If there are any then we will free them." Bulieyf replied. "But do not tarry. We cannot afford to lose time."
"Also when we assault the western gate, after we kill the guards do you want us to keep a low profile on the way to the gate house or charge in with our swords unsheathed?"
"Stealth will not be an option once we enter the western gate. They will no doubt raise the alarm the moment we enter, we will have little time to make our way to the north gate. They will not sarcrifice much of the north gate's defenses to fight us, but they will send soldiers at us. Hack down all who cross your path."

"Very well, then," Warick said as he stood up, "I will gather my things and meet you at the outskirts of Tappas."
Warick walked over to his belongings, picked them up, and started toward the gate to Tappas. As he walked he could remember his grandfathers words to him when he was a young boy in intense training. Speed is key, you must know your opponent as you know yourself. Always remember young Warick, fight smarter, not harder.
"I will not fail you Grandfather." Warick muttered to himself under his breath as he began to visualize how the battle would be.
"I guess I will follow Warrick and work from there."
Donsro walks out the door to catch up to Warrick.
"Time to end this," Donsro muttered. "I couldn't stop this from happening to my village, but I can avenge this one and prevent these massacres in the future."
Loading up horses with what supplies there was to be found within the town, the Knights of the Burning Blade set out to accomplish their first objective of the assualt of Riddia. The acquisition of the disguises for the attack on the western gate.
Buliwyf began to run his plan over and over in his head, and thought of the characters from the stories of his youth. He looked around at his men walking beside and behind him.
"Is this the great battle that will place me among the heroes of my childhood." he thought to himself. "Or is this naught but the first step to greatness?"
Buliwyf noticed Kira beside him.
"Kira." Buliwyf said. "I prithee, We have traveled a short while, and yet we know next to nothing of each other."

Kira walks away from the the supply wagon and heads over towards the horses where Buliwyf is, as she approaches she sets her bag down and pats her horse.
"Kira." Buliwyf said. "I prithee, We have traveled a short while, and yet we know next to nothing of each other."
Kira smiles at Buliwyf?s statement, "My story is a simple one, unlike you or your brother, I have not had many adventures."
She grabs up her bag and starts securing it on her horse. "I grew up training to be a warrior, at the end of most days I would go down to the coast and wonder about the world beyond. Luckily I was offered the task to aid in the protection of one of our trading ships and I took the job with the blessing of my family."
She checks to make sure all straps are tight and continues her tale. "During my travels I had heard tales of your group, helping to right wrongs done to good people, and decided to seek you out. I thought long about my duties on-board the ship and when we finally came to the port near where you were. Once again luck was on my side, a family friend was boarding and could fill in my position so the boat would not be without defenses."
Kira starts shuffling her feet, thinking of her parents. "I fear my parents are not happy about my decision but hopefully they take to heart that I am helping those in need."
She pats her bags one last time making sure nothing is loose, as Buliwyf ponders her tale.
