Note: This is not the an offical story, just something I came up with today.
What happened after the defeat of Baal? Time and again we see the the destruction of the Worldstone, yet for some reason the movie always ends after that. Time something was done about it, so here goes my short ideas of possible endings.
(Just to make the text flow better, I am going to give all the characters a name. These names all come from "The Wheel of Time", and I always use them when I play my own characters.)
Paladin (Galad)
After vanquishing the world of the last of the Three, Galad's mission was, after many grievous battles over, only to quickly be replaced by another. Fighting for all that is good and holy, and defending the world, Galad knew it was only a temporary victory. In the future the demons would return, and by then the world had to be ready and prepared.
He journeyd back to Kurast and the now forsaken temple-city of Travincal. Following the defeat of Mephisto, the jungle had begun to receed, leaving the old cities in the open.
Many a paladin, hearing his summons, gathered there to decide what was to happen of the old Zakarum. Most were reluctant to reivive the order, given the name it had created for itself by succumbing to Hatred, however, Galad was firm in his belief that only the holy order of paladins could safely guard the world from Hell. Being the most powerful mortal alive, and his swaying verbal skill, an unanimous decision was made that the zakarum were to be created anew, based in a rebuilt Travincal grander than ever.
Barbarian (Lan)
Returning to Harrogath from the portal opened by Tyrael, Lan could finally allow the grief, which had caught him seeing his homeland in ruins, to surface. They had failed in their ancient task to protect the world, and when in their direst moment, not even Heaven had been able to help them. As such, hsi people must be hardened, prepared for the next time.
Most barbarian strongholds had been destroyed, it's people driven out into the wilderness. Even tough Baal was defeated, some of his demons still roamed the contryside. Gathering the last remnants of the barbarians, Lan hunted on the slopes of the great mountains, securing any refugees and killing all demons.
In the end though, their numbers were too few to cover but a fraction of the land. Seeing no other way to solve it, Lan took contact with the reclusive druids. Explaining their need to Elyas, now arch druid, the druids agreed to help their old brethren. Not only that, but an agreement was also made that connections once again be established between their people. The world could afford no split in these times.
Sorceress (Lanfear)
Returning from her perilous journey, Lanfear returned to the Zann Esu. Her fellow sisters greeted her return warmly, caliming finally that elemental magic is te purest and most powerful form of magic there is.
However, a select few, others that had tried to battle the minions of the Three were not so happy. All of these years of training, and one of their numbers steals the honor and fame. They convened a pact to "remove" Lanfear from their Order. Rumors were spread that she had, as all other champions defeating the Three, been possessed and worked to destroy their ancient clan.
As with all rumors, they have a certain way to make people believe in them. It was not long before she was openly denounced as an abomination, corrupted by evil. Fearing for her life, she fled, taking a large group of her followers with her. Together, they searched for other mage-clans, and created a powerful alliance of sorcerers. With this new force, they returned to their old home and slayed any resistance they came upon. In return for that, the Zann Esu gave up some of it's most guarded secrets to other male mage-clans.
Seeing as the job being done, most mage's returned, but many stayed and agreed to create a new clan, one composed of all forms of magic. The world needed to stay strong, and what better way to do it?
Assassin (Tough one, as I never play Assassin, but I'll go with Moghedien)
Following her victory over the Three, Moghedien saw the world's current state and could only conclude that is had come to pass because of the use of magic. Therefore, all magic users had to be destroyed in order for the world to survive.
Travelling to the home of the Viz-Jaq'taar, she convinced that policing was over, and conquering had to begin. Starting a fierce recruiting process and faster training than before, their numbers were greatly increased. Even though Moghedien was not their leader, her great victory over the Three symlolized her acquiring perfect physical and mental balance, placing her as nothing short of a demi-god in the views of her peers.
Not before long however, their long workd began. One by one the assassins were sent out into the world to hunt down any magicians or sorcerers they could find. Terror swept through the mage world, and battles broke out in every land. Not even the Amazon Islands were spared from the hunt.
And in the end, only the Viz-Jaq'taar remained.
Druid (Elyas)
Nature had been dealt a fatal blow by the reign of the Three, but beyond healing. It was clear though that were all civilizations had failed, nature and the druids had saved the world. The few remaining barbarians, led by Lan, agreed. Since their people's parting so long ago, it had now showed itself who had followed the right path. They asked to be taken into the world of the druids.
As the people left the bastions of old, nature quickly begain to resurface, claiming back the territory which it had lost to the barbarians earlier. The world was healing.
At the same time, many druids were sent out into the world to help nature in other parts of the world, and to establish new places to live. The ultimate goal was of course to eventually leave all cities and let nature cover the world, as it had in ancient times past. That goal was far off, but the druids were always a patient people.
Amazon (Aviendha)
Having been outside for so long, Aviendha returned to her beloved island home. Once there she was greeted warmly. During her travels, and contact with many other great warriors, she had developed new techniques of fightning never before seen. A chash was created in the beliefs. Some poeple held that the Three were gone, and so the threat. No more need to fight was necessary. As such, the number of soldiers the Amazons had dwindled greatly. As a response to this, some of the remaining warriors held that men should now be trained as fighters, while others held their newly found slills and prowess more than weighing it up.
Nevertheless, many a warrior, hearing of Aviendha's battle, travelled to the Amazon islands to learn from these fighters. At first all such attempts were met with refusal, but eventually some of their techniques were let out, eventually resulting in their techniques spreading all over the world.
Some Amazons had a problem with this, but most viewed it as a natural course to take given the situation.
Necromancer (Ishamael)
Even though Ishamael, a necromancer, saved the world, that did little to lessen the public's distrust against their order. Having accomplished what he set out to do, Ishamel retreated back to the his jungle home.
Many people, especially the other mage clans, would not accept this. As with almost all practitioners of great power, a compact was made between many of them to destroy the dark powers. Having gathered sufficient numbers, the ventured deep into the jungles in searh of the necromancers fabled underground city.
Their search was not fruitless, for they eventually found their destination. Laying siege to the city, the mages expected a rather quick defeat.
They had severely underestimated their adversaries though. From all the years that the necromancers had studied their dark arts, many corpses and skeletons had been amassed in the crypts below ground, and from these a massive army of undead poured forth from the ancient city against the mages, aided by their necromancer masters. The battle was quick, and having won, Ishamael and his brethren once again receded into solitude.

good read. i liked Ishamael's story the most. he saves the world and tries to be left alone. Some mages dont like him so they try to kill him and they get slaughtered by a bunch a skellys. good stuff.

Angus the peasant saw the necromancer raising the rotting remains and ran away. Since then he told the tale of how he narrowly escaped the necromancer he called "juicy bones".
I've never taken any writing course in my life
I just wondered what really happened to the characters after their quest. A hero is seldomly left anole (until they're dead that is, and not always then either), so something must have happened to their life afterwards.

Alright, here is the continuation. I will assume that Galad (Paladin) defeated the Three and build these stories out from that point. I will also combine different NPC's stories into each other. Enjoy!
Following Galad's re-establishment of Kurast, much material would be needed to the repair work and new buildings being raised. Meshif who would love to see is homeland rebuilt, was one of the very first merchants to start trade in between Kurast and the already prospering Lut Gholein. Business was good, but it was vey hard to gain any substantial amount of goods from the West, all following the Rogue's recently increased control over the pass and trade restrictions. However, one merchant in particuar had a much easier time getting through the pass. This one merchant was Warriv, and due to his reputation of helping Galad and the Rogues in their time of peril, restrictions placed on him were much more light.
Meshif contacted Warriv in the hopes of forming a trade alliance. With Warriv's fast movement from the west and Meshif's trading fleet, they could become the main supporters for the rebuilding of Kurast.
And that was how Warriv and Meshif became the most prosperous merchant's in the world. With Lut Gholein as the new trading center of the world now, a flood of different people came to live and benefit from it. Farah had wished to travel to Kurast and help the rebuilding of the Zakarum as soon as she heard of it, but Lut Gholein had at that time been in depserate need of all the aid they could get, as some demons were still left roaming the desert, and bandits had become increasingly many. With the new surge of people coming in though, she could leave Lut Gholein safely without any worries.
At the same time, Drognan had been studying the Arcane Sanctuary ever since the demons had been removed from there. In there he discovered something rather fantastic. The Sanctuary's unique physical properties defied both time and space. Within there, Drognan managed to open a new portal from the sanctuary leading not to Lut Gholein, but straight to Travincal. He quickly contacted Jehryn and Galad, and while Jehryn though that this would be an amazing way of both transportation and trade, Galad remembered its original purpose and remained sceptical. He advised caution.
Back in the Monastery, Charsi travelled to the barbarian homeland as sonn as she could. Deeply conserned with the damage that had been caused on the slopes of Mount Arreat, she helped out as much as she could. While doing so, she met up with Larzuk. Both sharing the same interest and having great skill in their craft, they quickyl fell in love.
Anya worked to re-establish the barnarians civilization and traditions, becoming the new leader for all barbarians. THis became especially monumental since Qual-kheks death in the final days of the siege on Harrogath. Without military leadership, the last barbarians placed all their trust in Anya and her ability to reforge their people stronger than ever.
Back in Kurast, now rebuilt, Ormus disappeared into the jungles. No one knows where he went, but rumors had it that he though to seek the Old Religion once again.
Ashaera and the Iron Wolves were quickly hired to protect the borders of Kurast before it could support it's own force.
And Alkor? Well, old age finally caught up to him.
I left some out, mainly because I didn't know what to write, or their future was fairly eventless.
