There, among the bulky, threshing dead, there is a soul long forgotten. Griswold walks among the behemoth of Unburied, following the ranks of Hell, not living nor dying. He is everlasting, transcending both immortality and damnation. The cold gleam in his eyes reflects the life he once had. Wearing the clothes of so long ago, there is no life in him. He now walks silently among the dead as a mere servant of Hell's fury...
So where did you find this quote from? I'm assuming this is from Diablo III since it mentions the Unburied? I'm impartial on it. Part of me wants to say we killed him in Diablo II, but he was undead, so I suppose you couldn't really kill him.
Sounds cool. griz is awesome sauce. He isn't a demon so I don't think what Bashiok said about returning demon bosses applies here.

That's what I thought. Meh, perhaps a stretch to see him return, but wouldn't it be Adria/Cain return-worthy?
No way! He already came back once. That was his big comeback. If he comes back again it will be more of a nice surprise than something as big as Adria because I doubt he would contribute much to lore in comparison to what Adria would bring with her.

He wrote it I'm pretty sure.
Anyway. Yeah I dunno how I'd feel about this... We did kill him before.
What would be really cool is now with the environment he was sort of a boss or mini boss, and every time you kill him he'd rise again unless you killed him with the environment somehow like knocking a huge wall down on him trapping him underneath, or maybe some sort of cage or something you had to trap him in somehow. That way he'd resurrect but he'd still be trapped in a cage or under the rubble.
Immortality is only useful when accompanied by great power.
Haha, I thought about saying it but I thought he would figure it out at one point or another.

...Among the ragged, souless behemoths of the Unburied, there within the crowd stood the once proud Griswold. His face scarred by his victims, his hands cut from their swords. He stalks among the lowly dead, cursed as he always was, to live the life of Hell's Messenger.
And how many times did we kill Diablo? Uhh.. Two! And D3 will make third time! Lol, that always cracks me up.
Btw, did write it.
I don't care what you say. Diablo has some powers. Griswold is hard to kill, but c'mon dude. No, no, and no. Do not bring Griswold back. Let a character permanently die off for once in your life.
I am being seroius, He would be a good enemy to kill, would be hard too, Imagen all the spells he could cast to heal all of his demon freinds...He has a good understanding of demons too, so who is to say that hell didn't revive him to do their bidding? To heal them, hell to even make powerful spells agenst humans since he knows alot about the human body?
It would of been so much more awesome if Wirt was alive in D2s Tristram... So you have too kill him to take his leg
But anyway, If anyone from Tristram should come back (aside from Cain), I would prefer if to be Adria
As a Witch who sold town portals and spells, she should of been able to escape the town...
I wouldn't be surprised if the storyline of the Wizard was somehow tied in with Adria
1. Re: Snotspill If there's one thing that we know of the Diablo games, it's that if a demon is killed, it never comes back in the sequels.
For me ,and i bet that sentence blackwing found was from cain's journal, it is just as cain is telling the events of diablo 2... i dont thinks is comming back.
edit: ok diablo doesnt count... he is THE DEMON =P
Warlord of blood came back....twice
And the king.....

Still...if Cain is talking about Diablo 2...doesn't give much hope...
As much as I'd love to see Griswold in D3, I just don't see it becoming a reality...
