Guys, I know that the URL I'm going to share with you is from another forum, but that entry should be known by every Diablo's fun because this is a master piece.
That is one of the dumbest class ideas I've ever read. Granted, I've not read many of them, but..
So it's either a high damage dealer or a tank (with Hymn and Martyrdom especially), or somewhere in between? And he's kinda like a Paladin? That's it?
ALL characters in Diablo should be primarily damage dealers, it's always been like this and it can't be otherwise because it's action RPG, and you can play it singleplayer.
My prediction is people are going to make him extremely damaging in SC, and pretty much immortal in HC. Where's the fun in that?
Also, it just sounds like a stupid class. Wtf? He's a religious fanatic that's into S&M? And he likes to hurt other people, too? How would the NPC's react to him? In fact, why the fuck would he care about Diablo, he probably doesn't even believe Diablo exists! What would happen when he meets Tyrael? What would happen if Tyrael turned out to be a bad guy? Why would Cain ever help him?
The class game concept is PERFECT. The art work, description, skill names. All better then Blizz's WD O_O'
However i didn't like the skills. Some is really redudant and the overall idea of game play isn't that great.
Maybe if he focused on the Suicidal side (ignoring the tank side) and creat other sides for this class, like a great party suport or skills based at damage over time and life lecching it would be great.
He lakes creativity in the gameplay side imo.
I guess the idea is pretty good, and it's obvious this way worked on a great deal. But the class overall just doesn't resonate well with me. I think it's a stretch to say it's better than Blizzard's ideas but it certainly is one of the most well thought out Diablo III class ideas I've seen thus far.

So you've already deduced that the Flagellant has a better and more logical skill tree than the Witch Doctor's?
This class is interesting, but the concept doesn't appeal to me, and I seriously doubt that hurting yourself would actually help you in battle. But, this is a melee-caster class, which is something I really want to see in DIII (with the paladin kicked out), whether or not does he use shields.
