A druid without elemental skill?
Bring old classes back suck imo. Bring then back without old elementds and adding nothing new ?
No imo.
Of course they would add something new. Such as...being able to actually command the creatures, use them for abilities... Summon 1 rhino and you can command him to charge a monster. Summon 3 rhinos (<<insert animal you like better) and you can use the ability stampede for wave damage. Summon 1 hawk and you can use the ability dive bomb, 2 hawks for distract ability (im envisioning aoe so that its actually useful). Summon a wolf and you can use claw (bleeding damage).
Those are just examples of course, but you can be alotted creature points where like 1 rhino = 3 creature points, 1 hawk = 1 creature point, etc... then you could mix and match depending on what kind of abilities you want/need. 3 rhinos and a hawk so you have stampede and dive bomb. 1 rhino, 1 wolf, 1 hawk to get charge, claw, dive bomb. Of course you could come up with further synergies between the animals to make it more interesting. If that still sounds like it will play like a druid let me know...but it sounds pretty damn fun to me.
I'm talking about more animal control...making pets very detailed and granting pets abilities and moves of their own (which would go up with skill pts). As Mastertim stated, only maybe with better animals and better skills....lol

The Diablo Series is one of the only games with such a crazy fanbase and no game can top that!
Or of a Druid, it seems like the character might be a little bit difficult to use, considering all the commanding of minions to attack , then with the combos of charging and dove bombing. Don't get me wrong, it would be cool to see in the game, but it just doesn't seem practical at all.

Blizzard has already had Hunters and Druids, so the idea isn't too far-fetched. the question is whether or not a class like this would fit, and if so, how? in D2 the druid is sorta just a copy of every other class in one. in WoW it's the same story, it's a copy of everything else. sort of a "filler" character. in WoW, the hunter requires way too much management for a fast-paced action game. maybe if they took away some of the managing you have to do with a hunter in WoW and made it more like D2's Druid it might work.
the thing is, they seem to want everything to be very seperate in playstyles, so would this really be much diferent than a barbarian if they had shapeshifting and whatnot?

What do you guys think of beastmaster? could be unisex and involve shapeshifting and animal summoning...

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

Thats why i didn't like it. This class sounds like a Druid build (Summon+Shapes) not a new character.
