Yeah also a bunch of people probably saw wizard coming,
Yeah, that. They didn't say we'd hate the class, they said we'd hate them for it, and I think that's because they figured most of us saw it coming, so its revelation didn't break much tension.

‘I'M NOT LEAVING UNTIL WE ALL HAVE AIDS!’—The importance of calling them ‘mercenaries.’
God damn wizard is obligitory magical asian teen female. What is a magical world without stereotypes. I rest my case.
lol:D i agree with you, hahha, i read in someplace here that no paladin in diablo III but id like could be some similar please man!!!, for example a Templar knight, or a warrior like the diablo I, some kind of player like paladin must be in D3, it is unforgibalbly not included.
sorry about my english, it´s terrible:(
I never played a Sorc in D2, as I'm a big melee fan(Barb), not to mention Barbarians get the best equips(imo). However I can so se myself making a Wizard, It's so dam awesome, although I'll ofcourse be playing a Barb as well.
PS. I can't wait to see the other 2-3 classes they come out with.
On topic: yea, It's the name(they could've named it Garu, but that sounds like some old man, however they could've name it Sage/Time Sage), however I think Wizard fits pretty good.
Magic is awesome anyway, as long as their is one class devoted to unleashing ridiculous spells then i don't care what you call it.
I'm also glad they stepped away from focusing on elemental magic, which is ifne, but there's SO much that can be done just because it's "magic". You can invent pretty much anything and put whatever pro's and con's along with it.
Because ActiBlizz seems to think that everything that's not "wildandcrazy"revolutionary is "grey, dull, bland &boring".
Somewhere along a very crooked road, "originality" became "sensational".
The Wizard is the first class so far I would consider playing on the first run.
I agree completely
I will also make a wizard on one of my first runs. as well as a female barb named BARBIE like my d2 character lol. When they reveal the other characters I probably wont be able 2 resist so ill make one of each.
NO ONE STEAL BARBIE please lol ill sell it on ebay:P
D1 you almost had to, because the classes were so violently different.
O.o' ?!?!
I bet we gonna have a Knight (a wicked one) and a archer.
I hope our archer have some melee abilities with dagger and our knight can viabily be a good spellcaster (like a hammerdin, but not imba like him).
BTW this thread is old and the title is off because noone ever said that we would hate them blah blah blah it's a typical urban diablofans legend; please stop bumping it.
No, he didn't. It was a lousy translation from the German language, where he suggested a hypothetical situation in which they would announce some class which is very similar to some of the old classes which would inevitably disappoint the fans because one group of people will be happy about it and the other won't because they prefer and expect their favorite class to return in some form. Some idiot on b.net forums interpreted the sentence literally and started spamming about it. You know, the usual type of idiotism and ignorance you would expect from the 'fans'.
Well spellcasters aren't suppose to wear heavy plates. They aren't supposed to tank the mobs but nuke from distance.
Wizard has many defensive spells that you are supposed to use.
So after having all those defensive spells.. does a wizard really need heavy armors?
Tell that to my sorc. I realize this game is a far cry from D2. I was just stating my assumption of why people would be upset. In D2 my sorc is a high block vitality build. I use the really high defense armors because, for my builds, it is pretty much a requirement if I want to run baals. Regardless it is an invalid point here since D3 is not D2.

The blind mind's eye replies with a sigh and a tear of contempt for those who see the world as it truly is.
I'm pretty happy with the witch doctor and wizard, my problem comes from the fact the barb is still very much the same thing we've played before, they should have changed it up like the witch and wizard and while they seem very much the same they look and feel very different.
Thats my only complaint.
That an as a mage class I may never be able to wear heavy type armors again.
Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions

Depending on what other classes are next, I'll probabaly start with Barb just for familiarities sake...and bone-crunching awesomeness.

I don't think he's gonna be in Diablo III...
