Yesterday I was thinking about a bow class that I would like to play and I came up with a combination of a Druid/archer mix.
The character is more plant based then a druid.
I wish I could come up with a cool name for the class but I couldn't think of one.(not very good at coming up with names.)
I imagine a Celtic like figure.
I don't know if blizzard is going to give each class its own unique spell (warrior with repair in the first diablo) but I imagine this character having the ability to summon a plant which gives a quiver of living plant arrows. The spell would increase in power as the character lvls but it cost 25% of mana. This is so the character plans a head before runing into battle without enough arrows.
Anyways the three trees would be:
1) Plant venom arrows(venom that slowly paralysis the target or cause intense pain reducing their attach or cast speed. + high crit shots, and a living plant armor.
2) Plant based spells (like summoning a stinging bog to slow down and hurt enemies or grove vines that constrict and crush.), arrow shots used to take out enemies while they are preoccupied by nature, and special shots implanted with seedlings.
3) Nature based buffs like wind, water, earth, and light. (wind would increase the characters personal and arrow speed while earth would harden arrows and increase ones resistance to poison, heat, and cold.) This third skill tree character manipulates plant arrows to do various morphs during flight.( the arrows would grow barbs and hook enemies pulling them backwards or multiply in flight to cast several arrows to volley in front of the archer.
The first skill tree is for the very high damage single target attacks and debilitating venom which give the archer time to aim. The armor makes this char the toughest of the three. (I was thinking that the living armor would be a castable spell which would feed on the dead when the character finished the battle. I envisioned the floor would turn all mossy and green. This would quickly compost the remains and give the char some sort of buff or bonus.
Second is more medium AOE damage which drains and slows enemies while the archer does medium arrow damage from the distance. The seedling arrows would implant on an enemy and explode in green life once it reaches full growth. The seedling would also drop a mana globe if the enemy dies before it explodes.
The last skill tree focus on the character quickly moving around the battlefield while streaming arrows on the move. This character has moderate single and group damage, high mobility, and quick reflexes for dodging. (Water aspect would give the character the abiltiy to move with the flow which increase dodge. Water aspect would also increase the amount of arrows used in a multishot due to the living plant arrows growing from water.
Anyways those are my really, really long thoughts on a Archer/druid.
Sorry for the grammatical errors don't feel like making it perfect.
