I really want a steampunk gun wielding class. I know I'm probably pushing it because I've only made like three posts and they've all ticked at least someone off, but it doesn't have to be non-cannon. I mean, witchdoctors already use a liquid incendiary device, so what's wrong with a streamlined version of the crossbow? There could be skill branches like gun modifications (range increase, Rate of Fire increase, spread increase) ammo modifications (exploding, freezing, duplicating, ricocheting) and shooter skills (rapid reloading, steadier hand, increased accuracy, dual wielding, less kickback and such.) I think it would be great, and considering the astronomical advances already suggested through the combination on tech and magic, not difficult to be made to fit cannon.
I'm hoping Blizzard has thought outside the box for the last 3 classes. Who says there NEEDS to be a full caster class? Who says there NEEDS to be a shapeshifter class? Everyone is stuck in the mindset that the classes from D2 absolutely MUST be the classes in D3, just slightly different. I hope they aren't!

Elemental Magi FtW!
(Same thing as sorc, but looks way cooler, with a big, colossal robe/cloak, a hidden face, glowing red eyes, a halo, a devil's tail, an eagle's wings, sunglasses, a scarf, one of those ninja-cloths that covers the mouth, and a unicorn horn!)
So_badass TT_TT.
Since we all love the necro so much and can't let go I have a lame idea.
Name: Death Monarch!!
How bout this: the necro that killed diablo and baal slowly loses his sanity after the destruction of the worldstone. Then 20 years later he is severly F#$@ed up in the head but still feels the balance of power start to shift and can't resist what he has been taught about the balance shit and decides to try to slay them again. Since his loss of sanity he no longer has connection to the powers of Rathma and can no longer controll the poison of nature but still has connections with the dead to use bone and revive the dead but he knows taht he is not strong enough so he turns to other sources.
(To make this work lets say belail is not the bad guy in this game) He contacts Belaill and all the other lesser demons and makes a pact with them, granting him power of the demonic hordes of the lesser demons. He does this because of his mutilated logic that the lesser demons will be easier to slay when they are in power than the three brothers if he was alone.
He can use the powers of hell by summuning a demon for his personal body guard, can still work with skeletons and revives but no golems. He would still have power over a small amount of curses that have come from his pact with The lesser demons, the summons are only there for 1/2 of the damage and to absorb damage but because of his insanity he starts to like killing by reaping the life force/soul out of the enemy and using it to refill his hp/mana while the enemy is busy attacking the demon/ undead.
He no longer finds a use for his dagger and uses a claw like the assasins in diablo 2 because it bleeds better. As well as syphoning health while attacking whenever he kills someone a fraction of their total hp or mana replenishes his.
3 Trees: NO MORE POISON!!! That is the witch doctors now ;(.
Bone: Summon a massive army of skeletons/skeletal mages and revives as well as holds bone attacks like spear, teeth, spirit but he no longer hs the ability to wall with bone only has bone prison that slowly tightens doing damage until the target kills the prison and the damage stops.
Demonic Slave: Summon a demon of your choice of 7 or so, they all give off different auras and do different levels of damage and hp levels, some are more like casters(lower resistance aura), some are ultra tanks (defiance aura) some and pure damage (fanatasim aura). These aura affects only affect you and your summons not party members.) They level with you and if you want a new demon you have to send yours back to hell and start with a level 1 demon again and have to level it, forces players to make wise choices and also helps ALOT with replayability of the chacter. The skill points you put on them can increase there level of aura that hey produce, their hp levels, their attack speed, their physical damage, their magical damage. Also at the bottom of the tree there is a Spell Called: Demonic Possesion: Remeber Illidan in WC3 when he metamophasized . . . yeah. When he is transformed he can't use any bone skills because he is under direct controll of belial but he gains a demonic shadow ranged attack as his normal attack. He can still use curses and all of the skills in the Blood tree and those skills get bonuses.
Blood: This is the tree that develpoed because of his insanity and growing love for the blood of demons. Skills that are here are all of his curses, they are alot more limited than in diablo 2 but have the favorites and some new faces. Blood Hunger: it is a constant life leach regardless of weapon, each skills level hightens. Spiritual Hunger: It is a constant mana leach regardless of weapon, each skills level hightens. Blood Rage: When an enemy has lower than 50 percent hp this pasive skill kicks in. Each level increases the attack speed bonus and movement speed that you recieve when his life is low. * Life Boost: When you kill a monster you recieve a percent of his total hp into yours. Spirit Boost: When you Kill a monster you recieve a percent of his hp into your mana.* Only one of these can be used as a time and is set like an aura taht only applies to you and your demon. Sacrifise: He cuts himself and throws the blood on the ground in a streak, says "Bustle in your hedge row" backmasked and the blood bursts into flame creating a gateway to hell for 30 seconds, everything that walks through it is absorbed and takes xx damage per second untill they are released once the spell is complete. This spell takes 60 percent of your total health, killing you if you have lower than 60 percent so you have to use it sparingly.
This Character has very low max hp and armor but it doesnt matter because either way that you like to play, letting your minions kill for you, or ripping limbs off and leaching your life faster than you can lose it, you can keep yourself alive.
He would also be incredibly fun to journey with to hear his growing insanity and bloodlust as he meets all the familiar faces, cain, Peppin??? And hear his idea of whats going on and what has happend in the past.
"This place is thick with the stench of ghouls . . . (Inhale of breath) God I love it (Evil Laugh - maybe like Heath Ledger as the joker :P)"
What you guys think, I realize it needs alot of work.
Vard-lokkur - spiritcaller wǣrloga - oathbreaker Warlocks are, among historic Christian traditions, said to be the male equivalent of witches (usually in the pejorative sense of Europe's Middle Ages), and were said to ride pitchforks instead of broomsticks which normally witches would ride. In traditional Scottish witchcraft, "warlock" was and is simply the term used for a wizard, or male witch.[1] A synonym is sorcerer.[2]
what you are looking for is generally just called a demonologist or summoner.
That warlocks are summoners of demons are just wow-ifications of the name. Warlock is just a name for magician, but from other parts in the world. Do not rely on WoW for your information about the meening of words, it is uniqe for that game, and should remain so.

Perhaps the implausibility of its own existence makes the skeleton think it hilarious to hide in a barrel, cackling intermittently for some three hundred years until a victim happens by?
Globes of health. That float. Riiight
... and no one thought twice about chugging something that had been stuffed into a poisonous mummy for the last thousand years. This magical orb shit is going to ruin my sense of immersion big time.
I'd like A class that was completely original and never used before in any games, that uses never before seen combat techniques and looks unlike anything created. You know what, Blizzard should do it because they have millions of dollars to burn on the best developers to figure it out. Good Stuff. Why don't more developers put new original classes and combat in their games anyways, I guess their afraid of failure, or it doesn't go with the Lore. The possibilities are unlimited, and the imagination goes on and on, it should be used more often instead of using the same old craptastic classes used in every game the past 25 years.
What I'd really like to see is an alchemist, which has been mentioned earlier. A potion-flinging, drinking, mixing fool would be so fun to play! And maybe have an alchemist type minigame for them to mix special potions? Maybe not. Perhaps each class could have a trade skill lol
Alchemist could have 3 skill tiers- Buffs/Damage/Curse types. Buffs you make potions for you and teammates that will give extra fire damage, immunity, HP, etc etc. Damage could have fire explosion potions, ice potions, poison. Curses would be like blinding, lowering resistance, etc.
Another cool class to see would be a zombie class that can like fuse enemies to himself. Think Abominations from WC except faster and less fat. You could take fallens' arms and put them on, then take a defiler's huge brain and get magical spells, and then take a vultures wings so you can fly! I think this may be a little too much haha...

.
An Alchemist would get Mauled, MAULED, MAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGALULED, in single player on Hardcore / Hell mode. I'd laugh to see the little alchy get his potions swapped away while he was crouched down picking pieces of grass, and gets slaughtered.
Inquisitor - think heavy armors and painful magic, with emphasis on pain!
Spellsword - think telekinesis over objects. He can sling swords around him for area of effect, he can meditate with the sword letting it arch around for defensive stances... dunno I just like the word spellsword
Seid - I am just going to let wikipedia take this one:
As described by Snorri Sturluson in his Ynglinga saga (sec. 7), seid includes both divination and manipulative magic. It seems likely that the type of divination practiced by seid was generally distinct, by dint of an altogether more metaphysical nature, from the day-to-day auguries performed by the seers (menn framsýnir, menn forspáir).
the seiðkona also carries the distaff (which allegedly has the power of causing forgetfulness in one who is tapped three times on the cheek by it).
The goddess Freyja is identified in Ynglinga saga as an adept of the mysteries of seid, and it is said that it was she who taught it to Odin
It has been suggested that during seances the seiðkona would enter a state of trance in which her soul was supposed to "become discorporeal", "take the likeness of an animal", "travel through space", and so on. This state of trance may have been achieved through any of several methods: entheogens, sleep deprivation, sensory deprivation, for instance.[citation needed] To galdra, that is, the chanting of galdrar was also involved in creating the state of trance.[citation needed]
Galdr (plural galdrar) is one Old Norse word for "spell, incantation", and which was usually performed in combination with certain rites.[1] It was mastered by both women and men[2] and they chanted it in falsetto (gala)
A practical galdr for women was one that made childbirth easier,[2] but they were also notably used for bringing madness onto another person,
Moreover, a master of the craft was also said to be able to raise storms, make distant ships sink, make swords blunt, make armour soft and decide victory or defeat in battles
well, there is the foundation for it.
Seidr, using Galdr as one of the tabs for invoking spells.
Imbuing their weapon with confusing abilities
and so on

such a hurtin idea.
What the hell does that even mean?
But, as for new ones... Well, I might like something of a demonologist or someone with reality distortion skills
The druid is a shapeshifter...unless you want a shapeshifter demonic style

No dude, warlock derives possibly from two words
Vard-lokkur - spiritcaller
wǣrloga - oathbreaker

Seid - I am just going to let wikipedia take this one:
Seid or seiðr is an Old Norse term for a type of sorcery or witchcraft which was practiced by the pre-Christian Norse.
