I like all the drawings you did before you 'started getting into it' better. I mean, they're not perfect, but they have a better sense of anatomy/structure. Good to practice on that stuff, keep it up.
And tablets are pretty awesome, definitely fun.
Also, for painting in photoshop or whatever you're using, I recommend using a harder brush. Soft brushes are good for blending and the like, but for building form, definitely go hard. Soft often makes things appear too fuzzy, out of focus.
