With the early leak of some impressive dare i say epic art of an old fan favorite class, the Necromancer. I thought I\'d toss a quick wallpaper for this art. As I have in the past with other classes in the past.
I wasnt sure to make it Diablo 2 or Diablo 3 but as Rhykker has stated already in speculation. Since there is a male and female of the class in this artwork you pretty much can associate it with Diablo 3.
The Artwork is by the Current new Art Director for Diablo 3: John Mueller.
I\'ll make more wallpapers as time goes on as well as a clearer version of this one should a larger image file be released later.
What skills you would want for Necro? I would want skeleton army and like 3 - 4 more cool "pet" skills.
Maybe 1 what summons 2 ghosts and 1 whit mummys, then some great aoe skills and some skills what you actually need to cast like wizard not like wd dots.
While this is all still just speculation, I had to end my 9 nine years of lurking and register to say this. If we get the necromancer, in whichever game it will be for, give me corpse explosion! The satisfactory feeling from clearing a whole screen of mobs with CE after applying amplify damage curse was just awesome...

i dont want to create hype anymore, but honestly that artstyle is different then what we got with d3. this one looks a bit better and fitting in my opinion. a bit more realistic, but still consisting overly used colors(too much blue everywhere, just like act 5 with westmarch. why everything must have a dominant color? thats lazy and sucks hard. blizzard assuming its players as pure idiots who cant distinguish two different zones without obvious color differencies. you are swimming in red colors? then you are in your way to the butcher. you swarm in yellow? then you are on your way to belial. its too damn obvious and unrealistic.
and ofcourse, over the top weapon designs. all those weapons look too much thick, big and well.. too much epic. simplicity has its own charm and blizzard still doesnt get it. i mean come on necro had some simple wand in its hand in d2. thats enough and looks good.
i cant say enough about damn art choices. look at this skull in female necro, that thing is has no flesh but it has experssions?! da f.ck? why does it have any expression at all? it doesnt have to have obvious expressions or poses.. its a fature overly used in cartoons. if you are drawing a skull, just draw a skull. natural skulls has halllow and creepy feeling to them.
oh well, i suddenly grew angry. sorry for sounding too negative, but i have to be honest as a diablo fan. i hope we see more art style change in future instead of same one in d3. this image doesnt have some change but imho its not enough.
Actually we have allreaddy everyone but Druid from D2.
Amazon = DH
Paladin = Crusader
Barb = barb
Assassin = monk
Necro = wd
Sor = wiz
Druid = (no druid yet)
I don't agree with this TBH
Amazon javelin tree isn't represented at all in D3.
Paladin melee portion of the combat tree is more similar to Monk than anything else.
Assassin Trap and Martial Arts Tree isn't at all in the game, DH Caltrops, or Monk LTK etc aren't nearly the same IMHO.
WD have no bone skills or curses like Nercos did in D2 and although poison is a popular rune choice for certain WD abilities the said skills aren't similar to things like poison nova.
There are no druids but some of their signature spells have a D3 equivalent.
Armageddon = bombarment (Sader) or rain of vengence (DH)
Summon bear = Gargantuan (WD)
Summon Wolves = zombie dogs (WD)
Tornado = Tornado (wizard)
All in all I think the most unrepresented classes in D2 are javelin Amazon builds, Assassin Trap and Martial Arts trees, and both Summon and Bone necromancer builds. I think adding a class that just used javelins would limit build design options- same for a trap assassin type class. That said I think a Diablo 2 like necro class could bring back a lot of the fan favorite abilities like Teeth, Bone Spear or Spirit, Psn Nova. Curses for zDPS builds, hell even bone walls/prisons for collecting rift density.

Okey but DH is range dps as Amazon and have mulitshot. Monk uses fistweapons like Assassin. Crusader is still Holydin as Paladin is in d2. WD is summoner like Necromanse and they are not suppose to be 100%, that's why they named different and not just copy pasted from d2.

FWIW, it could be D4 as well, but I feel it is more likely D3
Thanks for the work done!!!

What i was also thinking i dont want just another summoner whit dots. Well pets are cool but no more dots plz.
d2> d3 ^_______^
Imagine dropping a legendary on the ground and casting Iron Golem on it. Up rises your golem with the legendary power of that item.
i hope they don t fail us anymore. Give us sth.
