Well, he's 22. how does this factor in to your equations?
His age really isn't that important. The main thing about his large play time is that he can only have accomplished it in slightly more than 3 years, 39 months to be more precise. If we assume he played it since release. That means he's will have spent a minimum of 4 hours and 15 minutes solely on WoW every day for the last three years straight. Now that's quite a bit more.

Yet she judges the overall game by graphics? Or graphics just a small part?
I judge the overall game by playing it for a couple weeks. I judge the game by graphics in terms of that if a game has crappy graphics design it probably has crappy design of pretty much everything else. There were very few exceptions.
Yeh that's what I thought. But goodguy said you judge games harsly by graphics. He didn't say you judge games graphics harshly, just that you judge games by graphics.

By her logic, since StarCraft 2 has a high technological profile and poorly implements it, then the rest of the game is poorly designed as well. So basically, she's judging a game that isn't even out yet, that will be awesome, and looks good, as being poorly designed, and in turn a poor game.

Give me an example of a game where that was not true.
And I am talking only about myself. Other people may differ. They may enjoy SC2's style and not care about SC (which is what happened to WC3, WC2 fans just died out by the time). Or they may discard graphics completely because of something they liked.

You cannot know if it will or will not be awesome. It may look good to you may look like crap to me (and it looks moderately bad to me). I think it's designed in a certain fashion that overrides the old-style. If the graphics of the game override old-style, the rest most probably will. It did in WC3. I promise you, SC2 will not be the same as SC1. Good, bad, I really don't know and can't say. But it won't be SC anymore.
Most online SC1 players are not looking forward to SC2 much.

This guy has a lot, and look at how much he has played in a week.
Holy crap. I'm probably wrong about this (I suck at math), but that averages out to about 22 or 23 hours per day for the week, doesn't it? That's just sad, even if he just happens to leave the game and X-Fire on while he sleeps.

20.285714 actually. (im going based on the 142 hours in the last 7 days, which may be different than what you saw.)
I give a 100% guarantee SC2 comes out and is widely accepted and both critically acclaimed as well as loved by the players.
That's a bold statement. I suspect it will, though I doubt the player playing SC1 online right now will be part of the group of player that praise it the most.

Needless to say, that just doesn't add up. There's no way anyone could be actively playing that much. Either he leaves his game on when not playing, or there are several people playing on the same Xfire account.

Alot of people overplay a game and then get bored with it. Then they wonder why so many people still like it after so long.
