Recently my computer has been under-performing in games though, and i may be looking for a new anti virus; after looking at other options to see why my CPU is not performing correctly. >_<
It should also be said, since i got AVG a while ago i have not had one single virus. (unless the under-performance is a cause of a virus :o)
I don't use or like Mcafee. I heard from some friends (Not sure if this is true or not, so don't drill me GoodGuy. ;)) that Mcafee is one of the worst available. I am not sure but I trust them personally.
Currently I am running Symantec. It seems to work pretty good.
i agree with linkx macafee is terrible, same with norton's; i use trend micro and i haven't had any problems.
I had a few problems with Norton Antivirus. Not a major fan of it.
One thing I HATE is how they put these bullshit antivirus programs on your computer before you buy it. (I'd simply build a comp but I dont have that kind of money. x.x Lol.)
lol.... yea norton's antivirus sux big time, i had a SVCHOST.EXE problem, fixed the problem manually, got rid of norton antivirus and put on trend mirco and the computer is working fine.
i agree if they are going to give you options, there should more than just one or two different antiviruses on the list.

Personally I wouldn't consider half of what comes with the computer to be antivirus software. Rather I would consider it to be something I like to call "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Software". Courtesy of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Inc.

I don't put myself in situations where I get viruses (virii for tards) so I don't need a beefy antivirus.
As for McAfee and Norton, they are both junk. Norton slightly redeemed itself with Norton 360, but not nearly enough for me to use or even recommend them.
Kaspersky is good stuff too. Slightly more difficult to use but a damn good antivirus.
I cant get rid of one virus. [not sure if its a virus.]
The disk space seems to randomly decrease and increase evrytime i log into my computer though its half empty. [about 9gb]
Right now the free space is 66 bytes.

I don't use an anti-virus. Why, you ask? Because I know instantly if I'm infected, and I hunt it down. I disable the computer from accessing the internet, and use one of the other computers at home to search the internet for what this virus does, and how it works. Not too long after that it is erased completely. I've hunted down 10+ already, and have been unsuccessful only twice, and that was at the start.
One good way of knowing if your computer has a virus is checking if a process called ctfmon.exe is running. if you end it, and it comes right back, then usually from my experiences the computer is infected. There are several others, but I forgot.

She reformats her computer, meaning everything is erased anyway.
Uh. No. If you are even remotely intelligent, you can set up your computer so that when you reformat, you lose nothing. I could reformat right now and keep everything but my Windows files.

For spyware, I use Spybot - Search and Destroy, and Spyware Blaster. For free programs, they're not too bad. I've never had a problem with either one.
But it really is irritating. Useful though.

Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
You will as soon as you lose something incredibly important because of a virus.
