Yeah, I really don't understand christians that can't adapt their beliefs. I mean, why can't evolution and 'God created man' come together? Its not like we evolved from nothing. They could adapt their belief to say that God created atoms sparked life into them to create cells, which in turn evolved into man - therefore God created man. But no, they aren't willing to admit that they may have been even slightly wrong. I wouldn't hold anything against them anyway - not even the most fundamental of christians - if they adapted their belief to work with science like that. I just don't get how they can deny it, especially when they believe in other forms of science. You can't just pick and choose to fit according to what you already believe. Adapting is the key. (its also why humans are the number 1 species on the planet, we have the brains to adapt to any climate or situation - then again, they would probably say that adapting isn't the reason, the reason is actually that its simply Gods will). Yeah, whatever.
Edit: My school's chaplain is good. He doesn't preach for religion, infact he says that the world would be better without religion at all. Instead, he wants us to form a personal relationship with God/Jesus, and bypass the formal religious rituals altogether. Amen to that.
Religion answers the unknown wonders of the world, but as we learn more using our Intelligence and technology religion should change, although it does not, people who believe that god created earth and that there were no dinosaurs are completely brainwashed and need to reconsider their life...
Religion copies the ancient mythologies, such as Norse, Greek, or Chinese, they answer questions no one else could at that time, although many have been answered now which is why no one really believes those "Religions" anymore.

I believe that the "6 days" thing is just a metaphor to show how powerful God is or just to represent Creation. I believe that God created the whole Science and evolution and Nature.
I hate all that psycotic Christian nonsense

I went to church today with my girlfriend in a Catholic cathedral. I'm Lutheran by the way.
Anyways, she kept saying, "cathedral", so I kept thinking about the Cathedral of Light from the Sin War books, and I kept thinking the priest was Inarius... LOL

Sir, read the Bible. With all due respect to Christians, picking and choosing is all they do with the Bible.

And people, can we keep this thread from becoming a bashing thread? Please? If you have facts, state them, if you just don't like Christianity, find facts to back up your claims. Please.

But reading that quote on what an agnostic person is... thats a damn good definition in what I believe. I'm a hardcore science person... I guess. But when thinking of the Big Bang theory, you have to wonder where exactly did all that energy and matter come from in the first place? At first some would say a God would, but I see it as a possibilty that there is a creature out there in the universe that breaks the law of conservation of mass (Which states that energy can not be created nor destroyed). Not a godly creature, just one that has the ability to create (and possibly destroy?) mass and energy.

I am not good at explaining this but here it goes. In the begining there was a bubble. This bubble was infinently dense and infinently hot. The four fundamental forces, Gravity, Strong Nuclear, Weak Nuclear, and Electromagnetic were all one force, and it is believed that Gravity split off from the others a quarter of a second before the other three split from each other. This caused the bubble of infinently hot infinently dense mass to become unstable. And you know what happens when bubbles become unstable.

Normally I wouldn't hate Christianity, as I'm neutral towards all religions (Except Shinto and Taoism, I think they're pretty cool). However, the reason why I don't like Christianity is because of my Christian friends, or ones I've had in my past. Now, it may just be a coincidence, but three friends of mine that are CHristian have real bad attitudes that I hate. Why am I friends with them? Well, because they keep hanging around me and all, and at times they don't act so bad. But with 3/3 in terms of bad attitude and being christian - I just had to make that correlation in my mind.

Theres some Christian guy I know on another forum. I guess I can't *really* complain about his attitude,a s he even stated it himself, we both debate in the exact same way. However, in our debate (Which, ironically, was about religion and the creation of the universe), we stated a lot of information in forms of analogies, but they were horribly done, and made everything he stated very shoddy and even harder to believe. And in terms of deabtes, he was even more close minded than I. So, for that, I'll still say that its 4/4.
