Plastination is a technique used in anatomy to preserve bodies or body parts. The water and fat are replaced by certain plastics, yielding specimens that can be touched, do not smell or decay, and even retain most microscopic properties of the original sample.
I guess a 14 minute video is too long for most diablo3.com members attention spans lol
I really want to go to one of these places, too bad I live in NewZealand
I think its cool if people are into that stuff for science and learning purposes, but sick and morbid if they are "into" that kind of stuff. I'm gonna be cremated and tossed somewhere of my choosing, so I personally don't mind that kind of stuff, as long as my wishes are fulfilled.
And its not that people are are scared to donate their bodies, alot of it is the relatives. Sometimes a person didn't put it in a will what they wished became of their bodies, and the relatives didn't want the body to be disrespected etc. I can see where both sides are coming from, so as long as they can respect each other I really don't mind.
this is not part of my post, this is a signature, it's not a really big signature for now but maybe some time later it will have cool pictures and more information and stuff on it like from games or some other things i don't know
At the moment of posting, I have yet to see the entire film, but I think it looks pretty interesting. So long as the people exhibited agreed to it first that is.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

It sounds interesting, but I won't watch it or anything. I get a little squicked out by dead bodies, blood, and the like (though it doesn't bother me on video games or movies - just real life). I guess I'm either just weird or a wuss. Take your pick.
When I die, I'll probably be buried out of respect for my family. I expect that I'll have my organs donated for transplant/research, but that's about it.
lol, I get funny too about real life stuff like that. it reminds me of mortality too much
I just want some sort of specific location for my body, so its like an immitation of existing lol. "Here lies the body of Atrumentis..."

"Of course he still exists! As a frozen corpse in outter space! Ho ho aww, I made myself sad."
If you just watch the first 30 seconds you can see some examples of plastinated bodies... they just look like plasticine... I didnt even know they were real bodies untill the voice says so
Theres no blood
Plastinated bodies are dry, hardly decompose (plastics take along time) and have no micobes on them
Heres the video on Youtube I wanted to show (if you haven't seen it already).
I thought this was fascinating

As mentioned in the video, a popular European\North American company which does it is called Body Worlds
Has anyone been to one of these things before?
Do you think this is just sick/morbid rather than interesting?

I personally think that everyone's body should go for science... I mean, it's for like technology, why the hell shouldn't it?...
Or you could let them toss your ody into the woods and be wolf food.
Thats my plan, that or donate my body for science. As long as it is put to use.

Did you see that one with just a brain and the two eyes-balls/optic nerves still attached? That ones my favorite
but, speaking of preserving bodies, have you seen the artwork by Damien Hirst?
lol, its called "Mother And Child Divided". he's done others, too. like, a shark (not cut up though).
