I know I wasn't supposed to be returning before the first of September, but this thing here as been really bothering me. Why hasn't anyone posted this thread already. I mean come on now, one of the greatest metal bands in history is releasing it's new album and there isn't a god damn thread in the music section about it. What the hell is going on around here? Anyways......
It is scheduled for release on September 12, 2008.
The album will be the band's first to feature current bassist Robert Trujillo. On July 16, 2008 (2008-07-16), James Hetfield commented on the album's title:
Death Magnetic, at least the title, to me [...] started out as kind of a tribute to people that have fallen in our business, like Layne Staley and a lot of the people that have died, basically — rock and roll martyrs of sorts. And then it kind of grew from there, thinking about death… some people are drawn towards it, and just like a magnet, [and] other people are afraid of it and push away. And the concept that we're all gonna die sometimes is over-talked about and then a lot of times never talked about — no one wants to bring it up; it's the big white elephant in the living room. But we all have to deal with it at some point.
The fans are going both ways on this one guys. Some like it and some don't. There are many reasons behind this and I do not wish to discuss simpily, because the album isn't out yet and I'm not one to judge before hand, so let's keep this to ourselfs for the time being.
I guess this post will be similar to grand turismo 5 prologue, because I will be giving you a little glimpse of the new Fenatic.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
It's got some of that older "epic solo feel" from Kill em All - Master of Puppets and some of the newer "chunky riffage feel" from Justice - Reload. I'm glad they shot Bob Rock in the back of the head. I mean, was there even one solo in St. Anger?!? But I digress, we will never hear the old Hetfield, he blew out his voice on stage during So What! if I remember correctly. Load and Reload were great albums in my opinion, they just were'nt classic Metallica. I'm interested as to what they have up their sleeve. My guess is that they will have similar vocals to Load/Reload but maintain the feel from their older albums.
Too bad I had to listen to it for the fist time on a crappy laptop lol.

I know all that. Anyway, shit so far sounds like from the Load Reload era, nothing like anything before, NOTHING..just a slightly heavier Load or Reload song.
Lol, so what's the point of this thread if we can't discuss if it's a good album or not?
Heh, Cyanide is good, not great though imo. I love how he introduces the track, and I was laughing my ass of when some lone guy in the crowd was jumping up and down and everyone else was just, y'know, listening. xD
The Day That Never Comes.. sounds really good!
Because it's not out yet, he merely wanted to post it so everyone is aware of it's epicness.

Something along those lines for sure. Im so happy with it so far, after "some kind of monster" i thought metallica was changed forever, but they can still pull out some of that sound that is just so unique to them.

Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.
I can Listen To "Eye of the beholder" all day
not to mention about any other song done by Metallica
Amen.:cute:

Unforgiven III is on the album, but unforgiven was on of there best songs, I hope they dont mess it up.
Except for the ones from Kill 'em all to ...and justice for all:D
Seriously Metallica was a great thrash metal band but then they went black and died!
I hope somebody cast a resurrect on them so they can kick some ass again!

Freedom no longer frees you? Anyway, you can mute the music of Diablo and play that song, but I wouldn't like listening to anything but atmospheric music in Diablo. Try Burzum, Leviathan, or Xasthur for that shit, not a fucking Thrash/Rock band like Metallica.
These are two of their upcoming songs on their new album called ''Death magnetic".
