Ok as u all kno school just started.... im going 2 gr 11, and i took anthro..
its only been 3 days and i have to write a 5 paragraph essay..
Are canadians really different from Americans, based on the 3 perspectives ( Anthro,Psy,Socio )
So basically what you guys can help me on is giving me some ideas or arguments.. its has to be in the point of view from a anthropologist, sociologist, psychologist...
this paper is due monday thx alot.! <3
Anthropology - study of people, and the culture (past and present) (thats wut my teacher said)
Sociology - the study of the society and how it influences people.
Psychology - Study of the mind, nature vs nurture..
from a psychologist point of view, do u think canadians and americans are similar or different.
im not a psychologist, i only took some intermediate pysc classes. id say the canadian identity is more than just of white/caucasians but also of inuits and natives. so if they are brought up under certain conditionings they can think they are similar, or some will think they are different. it all counts on the conditioning they received. thats the nurture debate.
5 paragraphs? thats easy, youre in for a rude awakening when you hit university, youll write 5 page papers every week.

Can you throw us a freaking bone here lol. I hate to be rude or aggressive, but you need to give us a little more then that, if you want us to explain our point of view. Just saying, because I have really no clue what you might need, since those are 3 big subjects. One of them might need numerous thread to discuss. My point is, be more specific and I'll gladly try to help you.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
B.S. the essay. It's only 5 paragraphs rofl, you can make up something so easy as long as you support it in 5 paragraphs.

I hope you improve your spelling / grammar for the essay.
Also - oh my god! 5 paragraphs! That's SOO long! I had to write a six page essay in my first English class this year (in only one hour)... so...
Anyways, Canadians and Americans are very different, but I don't have the time right now to explain why. Suffice to say (for now) that Canadians - in general - are a lot more reserved than Americans. We tend to hold back and keep in our anger / feelings where Americans would just let it out.
Let's say a car swerves over the center line briefly and nearly hits you. If you were Canadian you might swear under your breath and drive away and talk about it with someone close to you later on in the day. If you were American you might roll down your window and tell them to go fuck themselves or give them the finger.
That is a generalization though, so nobody better get offended by that.

Jetrall, I think Vancouver drivers are generally just ridiculously courteous. I've been to most of Canada, and especially in areas like Toronto or Montreal there are some really aggressive and asshole-like drivers.
I live on the North Shore and everyone just waves other drivers to go first and smiles, even if they have the right away. Can lead to annoying standoffs at 4-way stops...
Anyways, Canadians are generally more kind, yes. But Canadians also do not have the same identity that Americans do. America is called a 'melting pot.' This means that whatever culture you are from, when you live in America you are turned into whatever an American is and embrace the American identity. In Canada, we have a 'cultural mosaic' which means that every Canadian's identity includes their specific culture. We are more forgiving, more open minded, and more tolerant than Americans, especially the Southerners / red necks / evangelicals.

No Canadians are not different from Americans because they are Americans as they are from North America. The End.
Although, this is from the perspective of a smart ass, so it doesn't really fit your criteria.

Also note that the cause of culture discrepancy usually lies with how children are raised.
