I wonder if you realize how often YOU, Umpa, come off as a "Know-it-All"... because you do.
FYI...
Thats fine and i accept that, i dont mean to but im sure that i can. But at the same time the way you perceive me can't conflict with the fact that i have always stayed pretty open to when something is presented to me. Whenever i was proven wrong on something i fessed up about it, if there WAS something i didn't know i would admit to it. I kow i can come off a bit like that but heres the thing....Im not a complete dick about it. You call me on something and i will man up to it. I dont argue for arguing's sake...
Like i said in my post, i know that im being the pot calling the tea kettle black but I just felt it was in need of being said. I feel that when something is in need of a voice if nobody else will do it I might be of some assistance...Ya, it was kinda assholish in a sense to call her out on that stuff but she made certain posts that an average person could predict the response so she should be able to handle it. Like my first post about her's, i expected SOMEBODY to say something about how im being hypocritical but i accepted that and said it anyway cuz it needed to be said. Maybe i could have done it in a more discrete manner but i chose not to, my choice.

Obviously when most are referring to him as an angel, they're not inferring that he's some kind of heavenly winged being with a halo over his head. It usually just means they think they're such a good person, that they can be likened to an angel. So this point is a silly one. Do you take everything this literally?
Well no, it's just that perhaps I literally didn't mean that angels don't exist, more like nobody is perfect. For example: he was a fatso
By the way I took a look at my User CP a few days ago and noticed that, *probably* you, gave me points: "For being a dumb-ass. Barack Obama is not a Marxist." lol
I really don't want to start a fight here, but this post made my blood level rise a good amount. This kid is amazing and should be showed to every person on earth, since this kid at such a young age understood the pain others are going through and gave his last breath those people. And besides that, he accepted death for what it is, something that I will never ever do. End of story.
I'm sorry, but there is no other side to this. No question.
lol, I can't take you seriously, what the fuck are you reading, little women?
While I dislike holding a negative view on something like this, I believe Equinox is correct, whether or not this child's actions elevate him to the status of an angel or hero I have too often seen people being branded as "outstanding individuals" because they do something apparently selfless before death(Christopher Reeves anyone)? That doesn't necessarily mean that there are no more selfless people left though. If you disagree with such a view I'd advise you to just ignore it, if this story makes you feel good about yourself or others then you shouldn't allow anyone to take it from you, I doubt it would make you feel any better about the situation by arguing with it, and if anything it would tarnish this child's act.

Don't try to be a great man, just be a man... and let history make its own judgment. -Zefram Cochrane, Star Trek
I read this whole thread and laughed at each of you except Equinox, because he's correct.
1) Angels don't exist
2) Feeding the homeless doesn't solve anything, it just makes the people doing it feel self-riteous and the homeless pathetic.
3) He said he wanted to help, other people did it, that's not a hero.
4) Homeless people need real help, like education, jobs, and Medicine.
5) Dying people are good television.
6) Little kids with good intentions that are dying are cute.
7) People like all of you who have made the word "hero" common, are assholes.
Gentlemen, good day.
Very, very true.
It's usually a pleasure to read your posts Ranim. If he was 10 years older do you think any of this would of happened? "I am 21 and dying, I wish I could feed the people of the world." It's an eleven year old kid who got hold of some news stations and it spiraled out from there. Hero? Doubtful, but possible. Angel? Bullshit.

Your right, go give your job to the homeless guy and while your at it dump your medicine on him too. It makes more sense than giving him food.
I don't think you get his point...
There are numerous issues with the homeless. The chief issue is psychological - they believe they cannot get out so they don't. Then we have education. Sometimes even their high school education did not go well (for instance, they were children of other homeless), they didn't get into college for financial or academic reasons. Sometimes it's the environment they live in. Living in a ghetto does not help. And if they get sick in the middle of that with something like tuberculosis...
I didn't even mention food here. Government can give food. Government can give jobs. Nobody comes asking for it, though. You ever gave a homeless food to see him reject it and say he needs no food? You ever gave a homeless food to see him buy booze for it? It's a psychological problem. Which is why I don't give anything to homeless anymore.
Helping homeless starts with government programs. It starts with available education, available living space, and available medicine. It also starts with people who care, social workers. People who come up to that homeless and pull him out. Not give him a chunk of food and go. But grab onto him and talk to him, like the Groundhog Day.
What does that kid know about the homeless? Nothing. His intentions are good, but they will not address the problem.

That person...i mean kid, that knows nothing of the homeless is still doing more than you. All your doing is judging him and shooting down others' positive words for him. Imagine that, he knows nothing of the homeless but yet he is the source to a great deal of positive direction to the source problem.
