Okay, basically, we have two stickied books threads that get used, but not quite a lot. As such, I don't think it's ideal that we have two separate threads, one for current reading and one for suggesting, stickied. So, this stickied threads will serve both purposes.
I personally love reading, so it's not that I think we should have less threads for them so much as I think we should have one unified thread that serves two closely-related purposes and cuts down on sticky clutter.
So, suggest a book (or book series, poem, short story, or any published literature) or tell us all what you're reading right now
In any case, I bought the four Otherland novels by Tad Williams about a year ago. I don't really like them that much, although some parts are interesting, and they're excessively wordy, but I didn't want the money to go to waste that I spent on them
Without a doubt my favorite book ever.
It could be categorized as young adult fantasy, although it's not like your typical fantasy.
It's more like a nightmare kind of fantasy.
Incredibly interesting book, I don't want to post up a synopsis because it could literally ruin the plot, but it fucking rocks, go get it.

I would say so, however at the age of 21 I could still re-read it and enjoy it at it's fullest
I was just ascribing its genre to it. Really, "young adult" means very little. I know many young adult-tiered books that have concepts beyond the common perception of young adults. I think it's just a trade misnomer, personally.
Hm... No, I haven't. It does seem kind of interesting, though. Might look for something similar next time I'm at a book store. I guess that would be under sci-fi?
I'm thinking of snagging-up A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens again to get in the Christmas spirit Saw the Disney adaptation and kind of got inspired. I can't find my copy anywhere. It was more than a hundred years old. Shame...
Hardcover books just aren't worth it to me anymore. Even buying books is hardly worth it to me. Most books I read are found at the library. Maybe once or twice a year there will be a book that I've been highly anticipating though and wish to own my own copy of. Sometimes in hardback, but not necessarily so.
You might one day mind that. But I understand what you mean. When I was younger I collected hardback books too because my shelf looked cooler when lined with them. But it would be annoying if say I was collecting a series and they would suddenly change the look of the edition or just like the style of the paper flap part. It was hard to keep things consistent and uniform in appearance. Now all my books are just shoved in a closet.

Purely aesthetic, I don't mind wasting my money on making my shelves look nicer.

That seems to happen to me a lot...
I want to get every epic in hardcover, except maybe the Indian mythology because I never found Indian (Asian) mythology that interesting.
