So it's not ok to harass/insult other community members but it's ok to harass/insult developers/shareholders?
The relationship between two community members is different from that between a customer and the company. I just don't see why EA would even want to do this.
It doesn't say where his comment came from, but let's assume it was posted in the forum. Why was he banned from activating his games because of that?
His account was suspended for 72 hours. Meaning he can't access it for that amount of time. With everything this results to.
And from what i understood, he could still play the games he activated,
The ones already activated yes. DA2 wasn't activated.
Yes. This only had to do with the timing of the ban, nothing else! Had it happened the day after he activated the game, he wouldn't have bothered at all.
Complaining would be if he mailed the people that banned him to see if it would be lifted. Posting threads in the forums trying to get attention looks more like whining to me.
He did ask them though. The post is far from whining in my opinion. It's coherent, constructive, non-offensive. He's just saying "this doesn't seem right. Just wanted you to know that".
About that i guess you're mostly right. I still don't think that inviting the trolls in is a good way to handle a situation.
Don't expect a lawyer to be on the side of the customer. All they care about is their stupid rules and agreements which they themselves are responsible for.
This kind of stuff is why I never feel bad for publishers.
There's always a point in "whining" about things like this, the moment you shut up is the moment you become a slave and you're free to be that if you wish but leave the rest of us alone in your docility.
One way or another you get the message over.
If other companies get their sales and yours, even with awesome games only gets pirated you have to take a break and rethink your actions. It's no wonder the most pirated games so far are all published by EA. No matter how many DRM systems they're using, they still get pirated.
Then either Bioware leaves for another publisher or EA starts thinking how to do it better. It wasn't always like that.
Buying and complaining(whining) will not do anything to change their minds as long as enough people buy the games even then they will likely state it is the pirates that are to blame and use even more restrictive DRM.
For the most part the video game publishers only care about the bottom line and on how to increase it even further. They do not care about the consumer and only care about the money in their pockets. Look at EA, most of their games that sell well are in the sport franchise and most of the games are not any different then the previous version.
The only way to combat this is not buying their games and also not pirating their games so they can not say it is the pirates that hurt their sales. Remember it is only a computer game and it is not a necessary for survival.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.

There's also a third that was an accident, I think.
This one however, is the most serious so far.
