Dear prospective TUC user,
Uber Carries is nothing new, and has been offered by many teams of 1-3 players (Example). Compared to many paid or free T6 carry services currently advertised elsewhere, TUC is meant to provide an alternative with some unique advantages (Post#3). But it should be made abundantly clear that the existing model strongly favors the runners when they choose to gain organs without using keys in return. Because farming keys takes a long time. It's not rewarding enough given the much disputed drop rates for both keys and organs: 25%@T1, increasing to 50%@T6. A T lvl capable player may be better off pulling keys together equally in a 4p team (Post#36, Thanks Mandrikar).
All runners are encouraged to open portals in return and share the burden of providing keys (Post#6, Thanks Apek).

The objective of T6 Uber Carry community (TUC) is to provide efficient and well-organized T6 carries to any players in need at any time. Some players wish to do T6 but can't. Paid T6 carry services were being advertised in d2jsp and DP. We wanted TUC to fulfill this need and provide a free alternative. One common challenge for any T6 Uber services is to carry players on demand whenever customers need. Unity Clans are represented globally and include over 250 T6 efficient players. It may not be easy to stop whatever one member is doing to attend TUC, however, other members can be available. We are confident we can meet the demand.
That said, you are absolutely correct in that it's a win-win situation, maybe even slightly better for the carriers given the current poor drop rates for keys. We never meant to "leech" off hard earned keys. We provide raffle uber portals weekly to carry any TUC users. We've implemented a feedback system, currently crude but effective hopefully, to improve our service and customer satisfaction. TUC is entirely based on supply and demand and willingness to use the service. So yes, I believe service is an appropriate name for such a community.
I invite you to consider two scenarios for a T4 capable player, who wants to use 20 sets of keys.
Scenario A: Player provides 20 infernal machines, and uses TUC service in T6.
Scenario B: Player finds 3 other players and provides 20 machines each in T4.
Now for A, it's almost a sure bet all opened uber portals will be completed within relatively short time, and it's probably worry-free for the player. On the other hand, for B, depending on team's readiness for T4, everyone may need to give his/her 100%, and it's possible the T4 team simply can't defeat that one uber combo. What happens now? Who would be the unlucky one to accept a wasted portal and be replaced with a helper?
In reality, a T5 or T6 player would never choose to use his/her portal with a T4 team; A T4 ubers pickup team would usually get T4 players at best, and sometimes T1-T3 players. This fact significantly reduces the likelihood of a successful or fast uber bosses clear.
More positively, assuming both T6 and T4 teams would take 4 mins to finish a run on average, and the target drop rates apply to all players. The T6 TUC team would consume 8 mins per organ gained, over 2 mins less than the counterpart.

If anyone has any suggestions to help improve TUC, please feel free to share with us.
I have opened many portals for people we have served if they open multiple portals. '' Leech on naive users '' is a bit harsh, this is a benefit for both parties, last night i had a 500+ paragon tank barb that did not have any high dmg alts and needed quick and stress free service. Him and his friend shared two full runs ( 8 bosses ) of opening. The barb mentioned his luck was horrible and he needed the Leoric recipe piece to complete one future amulet. I felt for my new friend so i opened that specific portal for him. This is not a, complete the job and off you go business. Many people we served hang out in our community channel '' Unity League '' afterwards for pick up games and to make friends with other players. Good day, - apek
do you also open portals (ref. to "free" in thread title) or just leech on naive users ?
Excuse me? You do realize that he's offering people Torment 6 clears of Uber bosses, right? The vast majority of players can't even kill T4-T5 Uber bosses and these guys are doing T6. Even if they did require people to provide infernal machines, how exactly would that be "leeching"?
Do you not understand how services work? They provide you something, often in exchange for something else. In this case, players aren't paying anything more than they would have to pay to do it solo, so there is no loss to the people taking advantage of this service.
To suggest that they're "leeching" off "naive" players shows that you're the naive one. This service is 100% positive, so don't ask backhanded questions like that.
(and, no, I haven't taken advantage of their service. I'm not sitting here championing them because it benefits me. I'm doing so because that question was incredibly rude.)
How about this: I've farmed plenty of keys and killed plenty of uber bosses... but I've never killed them on Torment 6, nor am I geared enough to. If I saved up those keys and joined this guy's group, I'd be killing them on Torment 6, which I am not capable of doing on my own.
He'd be helping me kill them on the highest difficulty and, in return, he gets another shot at Uber drops. That's called "mutual benefit." Just because you and your friends wouldn't benefit from this arrangement doesn't mean that there aren't thousands of other players who would benefit from it.
If you can kill stuff on Torment 6 then do so and let other people who have less gear/skill enjoy this guy's service. It's not leeching. Get a clue.
All that I'm getting out of your post is that you're an entitled whiner who can't consider things from other people's perspectives. You might want to fix that before you chime in, next time.
edit: P.S. I perfectly understood everything you tried to explain to me. I know how RiF works and I know that the most demanding aspect of Uber bosses is farming the keys. This is all very obvious and you must have a hugely over-inflated opinion of your own intelligence if you think I need it explained to me.
P.S.S. I also understand that the concept of team-work doesn't apply to solo-players. I tend to play solo, but I would happily join a group if it meant that I could be killing Torment 6 ubers instead of Torment 3-4. It's not leeching if we're both receiving benefit. But, go ahead, keep telling everyone how they're getting screwed over -- we're clearly not smart enough to decide that for ourselves.
erav2000, you seem to think that this group should be working their asses off to get infernal machines just so they can open portals and carry people. Why? Why should anyone do something like that? What benefit would there be? That good feeling in their chest because they did something nice for someone? Are you fucking stupid?
Of course the OP and his community are getting free Uber runs out of this. That's kind of the deal. They carry you through Torment 6 kills and, in return, they get a free shot at loot. OH MY GOD. HOW HORRIBLE OF THEM!!!
Seriously, do you not understand that the vast majority of players cannot handle Torment 6? Or even Torment 5? Can you not comprehend that those players can join this guy's groups and benefit from this? Is it really so bad that the carrier gets free runs in exchange for carrying someone? Do you not understand the concept of "mutual benefit?"
You don't like the way they do it? Then don't fucking join! There are thousands of other players who would love the bonus drop chance that this guy is giving them.
Oh man, you're soooo much better than everyone else because you spend WEEKS farming stuff instead of 3-5 hours. Your problem is that you think that your playstyle is the right one and that everyone else is doing it wrong. Well, sorry, but you're wrong.
@erav2000, the math you laid out above ignores time as a factor. You assume that everyone has an infinite amount of time to get "value" out of their machines. This is a flawed assumption.
Besides that, why is this such a big deal to you? You've made yourself a champion for those poor, under-geared players being taken advantage of, but they don't really exist. This service provides a symbiotic relationship between the runners and their customers. This situation is mutually beneficial to both parties. Trade. Both sides are in it to make themselves better off. To put it simply, everybody wins. Except you apparently : )
Stop arguing people, we are all victims of bad game design.
The reason why we are in this situation is :
1. Blizzard reduced drop rates to slow the game down.
2. People complained that it was pointless in playing T6 if the drop rate was the same as T1
3. Blizzard ramped up teh drop rates from T1 to T6.
Now we have "leeching". My suggestion to fix this is :
1. XP and GOLD should be increased with torment level as it is now. This make sense as the XP levelling amount increases too and one would expect a player to progress from T1 to T6 over some length of time.
2. Drop rates should be fixed across torment levels to ensure lower level players who are actually playing the at the appropriate level for their level/character, are not punished for being weaker. This is what Blizzard fail to see and this is the root of this problem. I also fail to see why the drop rate cannot be fixed ~ its not like all the drops are great. 99% I pick up go straight to the salvager. If you reward all players of all levels equally, they will enjoy the game and you won't get any leeching
The idea of greater difficulty is only supported by greater reward. if everyone got the same stuff from t1 and t6, no one in the world cared for t6 really. sometimes, maybe, but just to "challenge" urself. nope.
You have T1 gear, you play t1, get t1 loot. Sooner or later you will advance.
Btw i do not see how this is an issue. You can gear any char to T6 level in 2 days tops (well in some hours in reality) on Rift it forward. It is as worse if not worse than auction house. This system what is killing this game now, cause once again, everyone can get high end gear easily. Well it is even easier than AH was. Beats even rmah....
Its gonna be nice they fix rift it forward, although its a tad bit late.
Currently, I am around paragon 350. My main goal is to advance stats through my paragon levels as my items are all good and cannot be improved upon much at all. If I play T1, it will take me at least 5 to 6 rifts to go up one level. If I play T4 ( which I do now ), it takes on average 2.5 rifts. Therefore, I prefer to play T4 because its more efficient from a (XP Gained) / (rift fragment) perspective.
I also know that I will come across lots of legends in the process of xp farming so there's no need to focus only on legend hunting .
Besides, if people want to just go for legends, fine, leave them. Sooner or later, they will need to step up to higher torments if they want to advance their paragon levels at a reasonable pace.
Do you think it was in Blizzards game specification ?. "Reduce drop rates in lower torments forcing players to leech in higher torments" Erm, I think not.
There are so many people who are now finding the game boring and you cannot blame them. If a player managed to max out his Wizard in 500 hours, that's fine as he still has a few more classes to play. Why try lengthen the game further so that it takes him 1000+ hours to max out a character.
The average person with a life will not want to put 5000 hours into a game.
I've almost stopped playing and now prefer to complain on forums. Its far more stimulating than the game.
actually the math takes the time factor into consideration... 20 portals vs 80 portals with a party > now tell me which option takes you less time to gather keys for? option A where you gather only 20 sets of keys in a "carry service" where only you open portals or option B where you only farm 20 sets of keys but in a party go for 80 uber kills. Both option B is less time consuming and gives you a chance for a lot more organ drops.
More organ drops > more amulets > bigger chance for a better roll > no more boring key farming

Thank you for your suggestion, and I understand where you are coming from.
A customer is a user of the service, free or not. Any player is welcome to stay in TUC but may not become a customer or user. Let's be clear, no one is twisting your arms into using TUC as others pointed out.
The scenarios are exactly the same as you used in one of your posts. If you'd call that manipulative, be my guest. Actually when we factor in the time spent on farming 20 sets of keys as opposed to 80, the result is exactly the same, i.e., Scenario A (3 carry 1 in T6) takes about 20% less total kw+ubers time per organ than Scenario B (pickup team of 4 in T4) for a single player with 20 infernal machines. A new scenario where 2 carry 2 in T6 would be even more efficient.
You are worried about fairness. Why don't you want to factor in the additional time all carriers have spent to be capable of carrying 2 or 1 customer(s) in T6? Why not factor in stopping a run to be on call for TUC? It's not "doing nothing". I doubt T6 uber bosses would just self-implode being exposed to carriers. Why not view the TUC from the carrier's perspective? Unity members farm keys in T6 often as well and they can manage. We could have chosen to allow the T6 carries remain on an ad-hoc basis and sometimes not free. Instead, TUC is available to any players in need and completely optional.
You misunderstood my example and put words in my mouth. In the first quote below, I stated that random pickup group for T4 ubers would probably get 4 T4 players, which is the best such a team can get. Because T5 or T6 players would choose T5 or T6 instead to take advantage of higher drop rates, while sometimes a T3 (or even T2 T1) player would opt to join a T4 team for higher drop rates.
No one belongs to the selected few. There is no room for any sort of elitism, trolling or flaming in Unity Clans, Unity League or TUC. We want to build friendly, supportive and helpful communities. If there is only one thing I desire to make clear and ensure, this is it.
Best,

"In reality, a T5 or T6 player would never choose to use his/her portal with a T4 team; A T4 ubers pickup team would usually get T4 players at best, and sometimes T1-T3 players. This fact significantly reduces the likelihood of a successful or fast uber bosses clear."
you keep on using term "customer" but when the service is free why don'y you simply call them players?
as for your scenario table... which is VERY manipulative as I'm sure you have spent several hundred hours if not thousands in game and you deliberately ommited the part where you'd actually had to also include time in farming 20 keys and 80 keys, not to mention IF your customer wanted to open 80 portals then the time consumed would be the same.
You simply don't include the main factor > key farming. Lets assume the time consumed per organ for both scenarios, those 60 sets of keys extra that come from party contribution, for a single player would take 10-15 hours of farming. So not only do you get more organs in scenario B but also it takes you considerably less time to obtain them when you look at the big picture.
I know you probably got used to people opening portals for you in exchange for your carry services so let me just reming you that these keys don't drop from the sky, you actually need to put a lot of time to farm them which you seem to be forgetting.
As for what you said above - T4 uber party is most likely T1-T3 ready... oh please, with todays legendary drop rate, kadala drop rate and basically everything turning casual it's another manipulation on your side... ok I know not everyone can do T6, T5 is half of the highest dfficulty and a lot more people can do it... but saying T4 is also for "selected few" ? it's a joke. If I chose T3 as my example in previous post you'd say something like that just to prove your point.
If you want my suggestion for improving TUC here it is - contribute at least 50% of what the weaker player is providing so for every 10 portals - open 5. That is a lot more fair than just doing nothing.
As an officer of T6 Uber Carry, I'd like to put my two cents in. You are talking about the math of farming keys and killing bosses for the most reward, but you seem to be overlooking the point of this community, which is for the people with lesser gear that want to farm keys, but don't mind opening the portals if they have someone to help carry them. This community isn't targeted at everyone, it's targeted at those that need a little boost and don't mind putting in a little extra effort for it. Not everyone can do T6 efficiently and this is an alternative for them.
Honestly not sure why so much uproar over this. It's a service provided for players who want to use it, no different that RIF. There are plenty of players who do not play often who cant run Ubers T6 Solo and want help. There cost is opening the rifts, big deal they were going to do it anyway. The service is the players carrying kill the Ubers, both parties have a equal chance at a organ.
For the players who don't need or aren't interested, GREAT!!! But no reason to flame this.
The point that this service is heavily biased in favor of the providers of the service should be clear to anyone who reads this thread and if they still choose to do it then so be it. At this point subsequent posts are just helping advertise the service more. And yes I realize I am bumping it but only up by one place on the frontpage.
My barely-Master capable, non-RoS wizard has no farming partners or groups or whatnot. After farming keys for ages and dying 1,000 times in T1 I finally scrape together enough gold to make 3 infernal machines. Would it make sense to let this group carry me in T6 for the much higher drop chance of organs to make my very first level 60 Hellfire Ring? Or should I try to kill the ubers myself, or with a random team on T1?
you need at least 4 infernal machines and a 100% drop chance (call it BIG LUCK) to craft hellfire ring/amulet.
Even if you crafted 4 machines, there is slim, really slim chance that on T6 you get an organ drop from every boss - a Perfect Four (4/4)
But since the ring is soo bad, I wonder why would anyone bother to craft it thus wasting those hard earned organs.
Hi erav2000,
The RNG is RNG, and the fact of the matter is the lower torment you clear the bosses on, the lower the drop chance. If you're a player that wants to do T6, but can't by themself and wants a fast efficient carry, then this community is for you. If you can do T6, or would rather do T4, that's fine, maybe try a different community.
As for the ring, no, it's not worth crafting, but in 2.1.0, the Hellfire Amulet will be very worth crafting which is why people are farming.
Thanks for pointing this out. Sorry you feel insulted. I'm afraid my comment in question was taken out of context. It was meant to shed light on what some of the potentially hidden factors are. One tends to omit these factors when claiming any carry is "doing nothing". Maybe not everyone agrees they are valid.
The fact is it's difficult to find available carriers sometimes. Fully-geared T6 efficient players still have many things to do in order to achieve various individual objectives, including chasing the perfect gear affixes, grinding for paragon levels, climbing DP ladders, looking for upgrades (e.g., trifecta RoRG, perfect TnT), stocking up rift/uber keys etc. As a result, most carriers are not immediately available to attend a request to carry, especially when TUC is relatively inactive. As the community continue to grow, eventually TUC will need more T6 efficient ubers slayers.
Seriously? One of few things to do for a fully geared T6-capable player is to farm organs to prepare for patch 2.1, and you say that it is a grace that they stop whatever they are doing in order for them to get FREE organs? You've gotta be kidding me.
no different that RIF. There are plenty of players who do not play often who cant run Ubers T6 Solo and want help. There cost is opening the rifts, big deal they were going to do it anyway. The service is the players carrying kill the Ubers, both parties have a equal chance at a organ.
No, actually RIF requires both parties to put some effort into it. The runner lets you leech the rift guardian and get blood shards and you open him his next rift. You're right, both parties have an equal chance at an organ, but one party is putting much more effort into it.
Let me put it this way. Goal of me is to get blood shards and I have key fragments easily obtained hundreds of them in a very small amount of time. Someone runs through a rift and invites me as grace into his game, lets me leech the rift guardian and get blood shards. The service here is offered by the runner, not the opener. Because the runner would have killed the rift guardian anyway, he's not losing anything by inviting others. In fact, he doesn't have to spend key fragments to open the next rift.
Whereas TUC abuses naive players who just see "T6" and jump in, not knowing that they could get statistically better results by farming with a group in T4 or lower. They get FREE organs without doing anything. Because: If I want organs, I have to tediously farm keys, craft machines and kill the ubers. So if I want organs I have to kill ubers anyway, so where is the service when I just jump in a game of another player, kill the ubers and get organs?

Sigh...........................
I mean, it's like reading is hard or something.
Summary: TUC is a free alternative to advertised paid carry services,
The objective of T6 Uber Carry community (TUC) is to provide efficient and well-organized T6 carries to any players in need at any time.
Please see the following table for reference.

For the players who don't need or aren't interested, GREAT!!! But no reason to flame this.
