i was checking out another diablo fan site, planetdiablo.com, when i found an article about a site that covered the creation of diablo 1. it tells about the alpha and beta of the game before it hit shelves, but what really caught my eye was stuff that didnt make the game such as quests, skills, monsters, npc's, and dungeons, etc. it's deffinately a good read.
some of the quests, such as "Island of the Sunless Sea" could definately be moved to diablo 3 if it is about heaven vs. hell. and some quests from diablo 2 were originally gona be in diablo 1.
"Griswold:
The blade Azurewrath *Griswold noise* It's legend! It was cast by the angelic weaponsmith Cinadide, and tempered within the fires of judgment! Whoever wields this weapon will find the legions of Hell at his feet! If you found this blade, I would begin to truly believe that you could end the nightmare that has befallen our town."
and, this is one of the quest that could be put in diablo 3 (i have only just begun looking at this site, there are more that could be in diablo 3):
Grimspike, Lieutenant of Belial Scroll(read by Player-Character)
"The lieutenant of Belial is known as Grimspike. Beware this demon, for his strength appears immeasurable. Reading this scroll and therefore speaking his name near an arcane circle of binding will surely summon him there" Hmm, near a circle of binding.
---------------------------------------------- Fleshdoom, Wielder of Shadowfang Trigger: Tremain the Priest Gist: Defeat Fleshdoom and destroy the demonblade Shadowfang at the Hellforge Reward: Unknown
(supposedly Tremain took on the task to destroy the demonic blade himself, but was supposedly killed in the process)

yes implementing some of those quests, spells, shrines, items into d3 would be cool

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
You can tell the same lie a thousand times but it never gets any more true so close your eyes once more and once more believe that they all still believe in you......

Light and Dark Weapons, Wow they must really be making a Fable like version! lol
Well if they dont the idea is still cool and i really hope that this Tremain guy helps you more than Cain... whiny old man, If hes one of the Horadrim why do we always have to rescue him??
yeah true i hate old people but a fable like game might be cool only if they keep the original d2 graphics though cause that's just the way the diablo series should stay cause it rocks that way

dude cain didnt trap diablo in the cathedral in tristram. that happened hundreds if not a thousand years before he came to be. that church was built on top of the labrynth by the ancient horadrim and as far as i can remember cain didnt even know about diablo's soulstone being down there. i might be wrong about that though.
