That's what I would do too. Sometimes by the end of the fourth level, I'd just restart my game. I can't remember if you keep all your inventory though.
yes each time you went to new game it reset the world, quests, stages, monsters, basically everything except you.
you kept all your stats, spells, and everything in your inventory.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
i hated how you had to carry gold in your inventory in piles of 5k...
its piles of 10k with the expansion, when you have the auric amulet.
the mushroom quest isnt that crappy, 3 to all stats.

Stars aligning fragments of the memories
Parallel truth, awaken in translucence
Sealed by this deadened song
Sinking in toneless comatose
Come and tear my skin, fear what's within
Its massive darkness filling my world
Submerged rage writing unspoken words
here is a little walkthru for d1, got some interesting facts.
mostly things like which quests are in which quest pools.

I'd prefer it on the PC any day just because with that overhead view, I can't imagine pointing with any other thing besides a mouse. But it is cool that there was the attempt to reach a wider audience with the console.
You don't gather more experience in D2 by replaying same areas. I tested that.
