oh no doubt. it's just a little weird when you have 75% of a game made by one company with a distinct sort of look to it, and then you have 25% of a game that's made by a different company with it's distinct look. it contrasts, but if you get over that little drawback it makes for an awesome expansion.

So you see that sword on the far right end with the bones? I always thought that looked really cool. But do these look like actual items that were in Hellfire? I'm having a hard time finding some decent screens for it.
Wow... Diablo expansion not made by Blizzard when Blizzard made the original Diablo. Sounds weird... that's pretty rare. I'm surprised Blizzard allowed Sierra to create the expansion.

I think there were mixed feelings about it. It was mostly well received by fans. For awhile, you could buy Diablo and Hellfire in their own battle chest.

seems like a beta version or like it says a pre release demo, as there are some unique items not pictured there, and some that are there arent in the final release of the game. same with the spells

Yeah, the younger they are, the more brash they are and lack any respect for the older games. The same games that paved the way for what they enjoy playing today.
i have to dissagree with u there am 13 and i have played d1 and for crying out loud the game is so bad that after 2 min of playing it i went to google to look for a trainer... when i do tat its cuz the game sucks i played d1 for about 2 months after i got the trainer and i still cant stand it. it was only good like 10 years ago (it was probably the best) my point is people that are young usually start with newer games and eventually sometimes descide to go on to old ones and they say that it sucks (like me ;p) simply beacuase d2 is much better... especially the fact that its so hard to pick up anything on the floor in d1 cuz theres no alt button...

I agree with Siaynoq actually. Pretty much everyone I've talked to about D1 (the majority being older people 15+) love or have loved D1. For myself, I hate it

Well, ten years ago you were three. Um, most people who played D2 extensively before D1 usually cannot stand it. I can understand this actually because when you're used to being able to run and can use the alt button, it's hard to go to a game. And even though you played D1, I'm still convinced most younger people haven't played it.
And it's not like I honestly care that there are people playing D2 that haven't played D1. I'm just really glad I had the chance to play and enjoy them both cause they're both really great games.

Notice also that one of those items looks strikingly similar to an Assassin's Scissors Katar.

i noticed.
did you know runes were in Hellfire (as traps), then they made a return in LOD.

i feel like people missed out if they have played d2/lod but not diablo 1.
and yeh going from d2/lod to d1 is a huge change, no running at all (in hellfire you only ran in town), no alt button. but its a great game d1 is. i wish they still made games like that.

if i would have gotten it earlier, i probably would have played it, that is depending on how old i was. i probably would have been too scared to play it lol.
Well, in the day and age of Diablo 1, I expect a game like that and a game by Blizzard would definitly be big and fun, and then if you're older and played Diablo 1 before Diablo 2, you'd be use to the old games like Diablo 1 and still enjoy games. But if you play Diablo 2 first then Diablo 1 it's like screw this, this is way too low-tech with some horrible ideas and lots of crap missing out. that's how I am lol.
Maybe why I hate Pacman...

I stumbled upon it last night when I was looking for Hellfire screen shots.
It's pretty fascinating to see all the screens from the different Alpha versions. Each screenshot even has an in-depth analysis. It's funny how crappy things looked in the early stages of development.
Oh, I liked this one too. I know Smolsen will appreciate these as well.

Much could be said about WoW players nowadays, who wouldn't even spit in the direction of the legendary wc trilogy, (while on the same subject, I still love that 2d engine marvel called warcraft 2 ) and many more games that have been worldly published and their predecessors left forgotten.. well maybe that's where we come in

i definitely remember quite a few of those items. i remember the ribcage looking sword because my dad got it once. the flail with three spiked balls- had it. the mask looking helmet- had it. the upside down crown thing- my friend got it before. the cow looking full plate mail (bovine plate) mentioned it before. i do have a feeling though that a lot of that stuff was cut out, because it seems very unlikely that i would have never seen a lot of those items, considering how many years i wasted on that game. (had to do something while waiting for d2)
oh and in regards to the can't run/pres alt to highlight shit- they sort of fixed that with hellfire. they had a jog option available through the menu so it was like running without having to worry about stamina, and the monk's skill was this thing called search which highlighted all the loot. it was also available as a spell for everyone else. just letting everyone know.
p.s. i definitely don't remember the teddy bear...

ohhhh, guess what i found today? warcraft 1!! but it doesnt work! i wanted to add it to my blizzard worship shrine. i remember playing warcraft 1 with my friend and even though warcraft 3 was out, it was STILL addicting. im amazed how blizzard keeps you addicted to their games like that. i tried to quit diablo to move to guild wars but 2 problems,
1. my internet was too slow to process the game without having to wait for an hour to move one step forward
2. i rarely ever got on a computer with a fast enough internet to actually play on it.
u FOOOLS U GUYS R not TRUE DIABLO FANS...I LUV THE SERIES GUYS...it has a style to ,the gameplay IS fun!and there is music in each level, unlike d2 which only contains sound while playing!!!!!
