hey i started playing d1 again. I just killed diablo in normal and i want to kill him in nm and hell. Im playing singleplayer so ther isnt an option here for me to select. I heard there was a hack to enable nm and hell difficulty in single player i just cant find it.
i recall the hack yes. but i cant remember how to do it
Nightmare and Hell difficulties are avaiable for play in single player in the expansion to Diablo.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I have D1 but it doesnt have difficulty levels for single player, least not without Hellfire or being on multiplayer.

I actually remember on my original copy having no problem starting Nightmare and Hell games. But this one I've burned with ISO, I've not been able to do it.
I have a legal copy of Diablo 1 here and I finished Normal, went to Nightmare, and went to Hell without any trouble...
You just go to make new game and use your old character.
I think he is talking about single player, and unless Blizzard made you a unique copy of Diablo then it is not possible to start a singleplayer game in Nightmare or Hell. However....
" While there is no difficulty setting when playing single player games of Classic Diablo, it is possible to play
with monster attributes and drops equivalent to Nightmare and Hell Difficulties. The only reason I can think of
for doing so (and why I do it) is to play the quests that are given you in single player. Since it requires
a multi player character capable of playing those difficulties, quests are the only thing to be gained.
-Start a multi player game of Nightmare or Hell difficulty (character must be of sufficient level to start game)
-Select new game from menu
-Cancel back to single player selection
-Start a new game or load a saved single player game
-The single player game is now playing as if you had set the difficulty equivalent to the last multi player game
-The difficulty does not save with the character so this must be done each time you play
"
I nabbed that from some site years ago and put it in a notepad file on my desktop where it sits to this day. Enjoy!

I am talking about single player... Diablo's multiplayer sucks, it's totally hacked. I don't know what version I have but I have the difficulties there. The version is about a year old...

I have v 1.12... <.< And I have Nightmare, Hell, and Legendary dificulties...
Oh, and this post is full of shit too. o.O
Seriously though, didn't realize that nm and hell wasnt in D1's single player. x.x Here I thought it was. Then again they might have added it in with the issuing of the Diablo Battle Chest...
any advice ??

I always thought carring characters was Blizzard's idea. No it turns out to be Sierra's idea. So much for bashing Hellfire all the time.

... Years? Are you serious?
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
BTW, are your Diablo's all updated?
I actually got hellfire off the net so i have all the difficulties there.
