ok. i know this is in both diablo 1 and 2. but it started with one.
so i just realized that you have to pull levers in both diablo 1 and diablo 2. (im a bad diablo fan to not realize this sooner) but did blizzard just put that in to make it like diablo 1. did they just do that because they didnt know what to do and were getting lazy? or is there a deeper idea to this then it seems?
I'd like to first hear your deeper idea on the matter.
Oh, and it isn't levers in D2, it's seals or something.:)
well i dont have a deeper meaning. i just have quick little comments on the things in my head. idk. maybe that diablo is sealable within something. and needs to be open to fight him. somehting.
and seals are basically the same as levers. you have to click a certian amount to open up diablo. same concept really.
The sewer system in act 3 uses a lever to gain entrance into level 2.

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
If you have teleport in D1 and you are very brave/powerful, or stupid, you can skip the levers and tele inside the barrier with Diablo... to be the Lord of
Terror it seems he is a little bit scared to be hiding behind seals and levers

hmmm. i guess your right about that. you have to collect items and fuse them together to hit the orb to open the stairs. i guess that is sorta like a lever. but still. its just one lever. and then you have to go down into 3 levels to find mephisto just standing there.
it seemed like maybe diablo was more powerful in a way that he had to be sealed within a barrier in order to be kept in.
I see it in a different way. You have to prove that you are a good warrior in order to meet Diablo. If you are able to kill his army guarding the seals then he'll take the time to duel you
i tend to side with this statement as well. Also with baal . who sends waves of minions which get stronger and stronger. They dont think u are worthy to fight them and feel you are a waste of time unless you can prove diff
