Here's an idea I had with a friend a few months ago. I have sent this to somebody hoping they would make use of it and I thought maybe this could be a better place to share it. So here it is: A base, is what I call, something you writers can add to or have something to add to this.
"After Diablo is slain in Diablo1" Cain would once again confess to the player, that there is another issue coming afoot, and that would be his brother Abel; Who he hasn't seen in many years, but knows that he would return for Diablo's remains. (As for the official story of how Diablo has returned...I have no idea..but..who cares?..) So the story behind Cain and Abel: When they were both young, they had both been studying all that history whatnot together to become what Cain is now(which I can't recall); However as it later turns out, that where they did their studies at the time (perhaps the barbarian village in Diablo 2 or to the East at the desert or if you have a better suggestion), there was a tomb nearby that was forbidden to anyone to enter for it contained great evil. Abel, who was thirsty for all the knowledge out there, wanted to learn more about this tomb; So off he went out to venture into the tomb, hoping to learn of its secrets. When Cain was told by a stranger that they saw his brother enter the tomb, he rushed over there immediately hoping to reach his brother in time. Little did they both know, that this very tomb was the very tomb the Dark Lord himself, Diablo has created. It was said to corrupt any mortal or demon that ventured into the very bottom of this tomb; Depending on how the mortal or demon took upon the corruption, it made them undergo a huge transformation that filled the being with a lot of demonic power; sadly in which made them inclined to follow the Dark Lord and serve him until the ends of time. By the time Cain got to the tomb, it was gone; there was no trace of it left. For the next several months Cain did research about the tomb and learned about everything it does. Cain was afraid that Abel would come back one day to serve the Dark Lord and destroy anyone in their way. After Diablo was slain in Diablo 1, Cain hears about an army demons coming from (east, west, north, south; you decide..) that is being led by some mortal or suspicious character to Tristram. Cain fears that the news about this army could be led by his brother Abel, who is now corrupted way beyond comprehension and there is no way of saving him.
**note**
Anyone who enters the tomb becomes a slave to Diablo. Depending on the soul of the mortal or demon, will determine the fate of the being; I.e. the longer the you've stayed inside the tomb, to more demonic power you gain; There is a limit..But Abel was the one who reached the very max potential of the power.
Along with Abel, there could be 2-3 other mortals/demons that has come out to be successful from the tomb therefore granted with their own unique abilities and army of demons to control that are lesser(weaker) of them. Abel is the strongest of them so he could command them as well..But overall they're controlled by the power of Diablo.
So Cain asks of you to set out and kill those who control the armies. Abel, being the last army to defeat, would reach Tristram and make it himself, take the soulstone from the warrior or player, and use it to ressurect Diablo at his grave. Just as you are about to kill Abel, he successfully operated the ressurection(how he does that...you could decide...Maybe he places the soulstone into his very own flesh..and Diablo gains control). Perhaps the last scene in this plot would be defeating Abel (but not really) as he pierces the soulstone into himself bringing Diablo back to this world. When Diablo transform into his formal self(much stronger than before) he flees the location of Tristram leaving the demons to destroy the whole town. Griswold helped some of the villagers escape, but in doing so he was corrupted when Abel came. The last scene of the plot would be just as what we see of Tristram in Diablo 2.
Personally I like this idea because it makes sense of Diablo 1..Instead of just knowing some idiot jamming the soulstone into his face. If blizzard at all clarified what happened perhaps in d2 or some book lemme know what happened. Anyways this story would be a decent expansion for D1 in my opinion. What do you guys think..about all of this?.. Some opinions would be nice. Please add something to this if it would make it better (; We could just mess with this and see what we come up with after lots of changes
**BTW**
This is how Cain and Abel should look like:
(Cain on the left and Abel on the right)
The diablo 1 storyline may not be compled but the story alltogether if you read the diablo books it gives you more of this complex stuff. Thats why the story of diablo is in my opinion really awesome because theres no other story that really matches this one. (Although im probably wrong but oh well :P)

Don't you think they just wrote those books to make the whole story seem complicated after diablo1 or 2? I mean were the books written before or after Diablo1?(after..) As for those books, should I read em? any good..?
The "universe" of Diablo was most certainly made before the games were made, everything was written or thought of before they did the game. Sure the books were written for the public to read only after the game, but the actual storyline was there already.
Point: The story was complicated by the creative mind of Blizzard before the games were released.
That's my opinion anyway.

It's all been said. The pun, the not so funny joke, the phrase, something about oneself, the not so random picture.

Well if that's true, then Diablo1 should've been more in-depth in my opinion  ....are you working for Blizzard?! Anyways.. Maybe I'll check out the books since it's giving you an orgasm.. after I learn witchcraft.

books were created a year or two before the games were done iirc
the books are well worth it, if you love the games
reading them, tells you about whats likely or could happen in d3
Where did you get that information from?? :wallbash: Google lies! They work for Blizzard too! *And they tell you what should have happen in Diablo1
