Listening to the DiabloCast right now and they're talking about the PvP options and how there should be more. Anyone thing Blizz is holding back on the deathmatch/cap the flag/kill the mark/etc. for expansions (since we know they're going to make at least 2 expansions already)?
With WoW they always add a new PvP game with every expansion...Eye of the Storm & Strand of the Ancients come to mind. Just my feeling on what they'll do to appeal to the PvPers along with adding a new act for the PvEers
I've posted something on another thread regarding PvP and how they could've approached it the same way they did with the "real money for items" subject, with a "you can't beat them, join them" mentality.
As of now, nobody truly knows why they're holding back so much on PvP =/ even though it seems a lot better than D2 already (except for those who wanted PK and hostility).
Honestly, if you want to get and play Diablo 3 solely for a PvP competitive aspect, I think you are looking in the wrong place. That's not the focus of the game, the development, the design, or even most of the community as far as Blizzard is concerned.
If after release it becomes apparent that the vast majority of players wanted to only PvP, they'd most likely be very shocked, and change their stance on things. I doubt that this is going to be the case though.
Well, we all know the RMAH is just the result of some blizzard brilliance in cashing in on the under-the-table sales that go on. At least they themselves aren't the ones selling the items. That'd crush my soul.
I would like to see a bunch more customization for pvp. I think they should just take any of the arena maps and allow palyers to make private/public matches that don't even have a hidden rating that they can customize, like # of players/team, and also enable players to spar with each other whenever. Once those are done I would also love them to attempt ctf and whatnot just for funzies.
I think that after the game's been out for a year people will just lose interest. Many players need a purpose to endlessly farm gear. To compete in a hidden ranked pvp system that's broken and poorly balanced as an afterthought really isn't all that appealing. At least we go into this knowing that the system will be a joke and don't get our hopes up for something that just isn't going to happen.
