Here's a video showing an "exploit" you can use in Arena.

Playing at a higher resolution gives you an advantage over those who play at a lower resolution. The video demonstrates the extra field of view that you see when you play at 1080p. This ultimately means that you'll be able to attack your enemy when you're still off the screen in their perspective.

TL;DR

1) Play at as high a resolution as possible!

2) If you play at a low resolution, attack from the top or bottom (not sides)!

Definitely does not qualify as an exploit, more like clever use of game mechanics.

The game supports widescreen aspect ratios, not really related to resolutions in the point you're trying to make. I can play widescreen at 1280 x 720, all the way up to 2550 x 1440 on my 27" iMac, but in either case I'd see the same game area in roughly the same way. The resolution just gets sharper.

Pretty sure any non-widescreen monitor can still display 16:9 aspect ratios, you'll just get a letterbox effect on the top/bottom.

D2 didn't support widescreen, but it seems Blizzard has changed their tune.

Is the exploit to type so dark that no one can read what you are saying to them?
