I don't think I can buy a bag of cheetos with in game gold, nor can I buy them with beta bucks(I wonder what they will be called in the full game) any currency you get ultimately can only be spent on stuff blizzard sells.
With the developers working on the PvP system separately from the actual game I'm sure they have something awesome in store for us,
Im convinced you are just trolling the forums now. You can't honestly be that blind and slow. Wagering in game gold is no way hardcore, no way esports, no way illegal. It is about as hardcore and MFing, it is about as close to esports as a race to level 60, and it is about as illegal as selling any gear you MF. Got it?
Also I am convinced you are trolling because you honestly think people play Diablo 2 to this day to only PvM ha. Look at D2JSP which OWNS and I mean OWNS Diablos economy. What are people trading for? What are people doing? They are PvPing. I cannot make this any easier for you to see beyond this. Face it, your game that you love and think is all PvM is ran by PvP. Your kind of player base has gone and left the series many many years ago, get over it. I like how you try and say people want to get better gear to make PvM easier, dude PvM is stupidly easy in Diablo, no way no how would anyone need to get perfect gear to make that shit easier. My level 9 LLD could clear the whole content.
You're actually wrong. Sure, PvP may have a large impact on the economy...but it doesn't control all of the gameplay. I've been on recently and still found many PvM focused players. Did I ever say wagering was 'hardcore'? I don't remember ever stating that specifically. What I did say was that wagering encourages a more competitive environment for PvP which IS true. That kind of environment would have people expect the PvP to be balanced, which Blizzard has already explained won't happen.
What people, like yourself, need to realize is that this game might just not be the game for you. Blizzard has explained their intentions in detail. The majority of the community stands behind them. This is what Diablo 3 will become, either deal with it or do not buy the game.
