PvP should include a hardcore version for us hardcore folks. Unlike you softies who think your characters have infinite lives, many of us think its ridiculous to die in a PvP battlefield and then still use that character again. That is an insult to common sense.
I am sending in my hardcore PvP suggestion to Blizzard, along with a $10 Paypal donation so they include this feature. Keep a lookout for my Demon Hunter Katniss on Battle.net.
For added fun, it'd be fun with NO matchmaker. It'd be a free for all. That way, people like me with level 60 hardcore characters can pick off the level one newbies who are just peeking in to see what it is all about:)
I hope he's joking. But if not, he's why PvP is in an arena now, because too many people PvP griefed.
Anyway, I too would like some form of hardcore PvP. Maybe the death doesn't affect PvE hardcore? Or maybe it doesn't kill, but you lose levels or something, or, at the very least, items go into the shared stash when you die.
Or, it might become low level duals only, because only low level HC toons are worth the risk?
I think it should have an option for both. Although there should be something, like a really and I mean REALLY badass banner or something for someone who lives 50+ matches in death only PvP level 60. That way it won't be that easy to manipulate and cheat like a low level would.
If they give me a decent incentive to play to the death for real, I would probably jump ship and do it over Softcore. Just because I want that thrill of really killing someones character ha.
Yea I am a dick, but I loved Harcore in D2 because it was kill or be killed.
Adon, you prove again why we shouldn't have things the way you want..
I know don't I? I am such a bad person for having fun with the game!
Great part is, I don't care. I am who I am, and I play how I want to. Got a problem with it, then hide ha.

I won't have to hide! That's the beauty. You won't get what you want.. and I get to enjoy the game...awesome isn't it?

You sure? I am sure even Jay said he wants to make a way for hardcore characters to kill eachother for real in arena or by some other means. Sounds like I do get what I want? Also sounds like you won't be stepping 1 foot near it either, works out great I think.

Oh, we'll probably get a way to duel between hardcore characters in Arena. Honestly, it sounds quite interesting to me. ^-^ However, that doesn't really give you what you want as you want to pick on people. Since Arena will be matchmaking based on skill and gear, you'll be playing those that should challenge you. If you cannot be challenged you'll have large queue times while I have quick queues.

Nah if you read what I said you would understand it is a good alternative to what I want. I want that kill or be killed feeling in Hardcore. With hostility out, a death arena would help fill that void and actually make me play HC. I would enjoy playing it and seeing how far I can make it without dying. Only thing I wish was that if it showed kills, but the community will take that over with ladders, ect. In the end I am excited for such a feature and it is a rare occasion where I am on Jay's side.

A player ladder will only work if players can duel specific other players. So unless we get a form of private Arena's you'll be stuck with public matchmaking without any public rankings. I'm not really against private PvP matches where you can choose the teams though, so perhaps you will get what you want then.. and it'll keep you away from everyone else. Win~win.

Even if it doesn't people will talk about that guy that stomped them. When you stomp enough people you will become known, a legend if you will. That is the end goal for all PvP.
Really I thought it was the fun and challenge of it. No wait wait. I'm sorry that must be a PvM only concept. Silly me.
Sure have fun and be challenged. In the end you had fun, but when you look back at it you can say "Hey know what..I spent so much damn time with this game and well I had fun" Me? I can look back and say "Know what, I had a ton of fun with this and I was the best, I did something to the fullest and got every use out of it I could". Then again people are wired differently, I am highly competitive. If I can't be the best with my abilities then I don't waste my time with it. I got plenty of shit to be top at to waste time at the bottom.

Without having a ladder, how would you even know that you're the best? Its a randomly queuing system with matchmaking. No public ranking, no ladder. The best you'd have would be a sense you're good because you haven't lost often. If you're fighting where one loss kills the character and makes you start over, you can quite quickly lose your throne to crazy game mechanics.
I think the goal is more to have fun. If you can have fun with the thrill of death being a full restart, more power to you. I actually have interest in Hardcore myself.

Well first off it is very simple. i guess you never played in a high PvP environment. When you hit that zone people talk, and when people talk you can judge how good you are. If I go 5 years undefeated and beat every other known PvP'er out there then I am to come to the conclusion that I am the best.

PvE is different, you can play hundred of hours without dying, and the experience is ok, but in PvP chances are the half of the time, you die.
I dont think its a good idea.
