I would like your toughts on the new PVP feature (d2 style) that will be introduce in 1.0.7.
Any well geared CMWW wizard can lockdown an enemy. Question: how do you think this will nerfed (or untouched?) for PVP? CMWW will basicly need to Frost Nova once to win and... we know the rest?
Any idea?
Also, while we are here, do you think life steel will work on PVP? I have 4,2% life steal, I hope it works!
I highly doubt a CMWW wizard will be able to do as well as you are thinking considering the mobile nature of pvp and the very stationary nature of WW. No one will be standing still in your WW enough.
lifesteal will work in pvp im sure of it, but the armor and resist we got, will reduce your dmg and lifesteal will be low too since the dmg reduction will be huge vs pve wich is nul i believe, loh dont depend on your dmg so you can easily assume it will be way better then lifesteal
First of all, keeping Frost Nova up one just one target while maintaining a good level of survivability on gear as well means you would have to be really, really well geared. Secondly and as previously mentioned, even if you reach that level of gear, all the other classes still have their own ways of immediately escaping your stun chain, turning the fight around and possibly killing you.
If there ever is a viable melee/CM spec for PvP, it will definitely have some variation from the current norm. First off, Wicked Wind ain't gonna fly cause unlike AI, humans aren't going to just stand in it (and you can't make so many that avoiding them becomes difficult). We would have to find something else to proc CM, possibly one of the other Energy Twister runes. Secondly, Teleport will probably be a must (one of Wizard's greatest PvP assets, CD also lowers with CM). Dunno how the armor thing will work out. High-end CM Wizards currently use Storm Armor; I don't know if different armors will be viable in PvP or if Prismatic will just come back as main.
CMWW attacks DH. DH Smokescreens, vaults, disappears and begins sniping from off-screen.
CMWW attacks barb. Barb pops WotB and begins one-sided fight.
CMWW attacks monk. Monk pops Serenity and begins rampage with Seven-sided Strike, unavoidable Thunderclap, etc.
CMWW attacks WD. WD Spirit Walks, goes up point blank and spams Zombie Bears for GG.
^ This. This is the reason I am not looking forward to pvp'ing with my Wizard. I'm not referring to CMWW, I'm referring to the fact that every class has an "immunity to CC for x seconds" ability EXCEPT the Wizard. The best we have is Mirror Image, which breaks one CC but doesn't prevent you from being CC'd again from the next hit. The best defense we may have will be to carefully balance our resistances and life return (life regen can be huge here) so that we take hits =>15% of our HP on a consistent basis to trigger Illusionist just about every blow, and kite like crazy. That's going to be my strat... The secret's out . But I have doubts as to how effective any strategy can be that involves intentionally taking big hits.

Is there any official source on this?
