Alot of people are talking about the lack of endgame now that trading is gone and bounties/nef rifts get boring fast, making them rage even more for the lack of PvP advertised in D3V's box so here is my thoughts/Ideas on a possible solution.
I think blizzard should Introduce the PvP arenas that we saw some time ago for team deathmatch which were pretty sweet but with a twist:
4v4 teams defend an obelisk on each side of the arena that has hp and deals damage, monsters spawn from portals for both teams all over the arena (elites included).
Obelisks attack only players but can only be damaged by monsters (to prevend spawn point ganking).
The objective is to kill the enemy team so the monsters destroy their obelisk while defending your own obelisk, first team to destroy the opposing obelisk wins.
Pretty simple idea, it uses assets already in-game and no real balance required since we will be dealing alot more with monsters than with players,
the rewards could be cosmetic only or it could have a rank making it semi competitive to climb the rank.
What are your thoughts on this mode? would it be a worthy addiction or just another fail?
I know there are alot of PvP or PvPvE ideas out there but i wanted to focus on a really simple one that could be implemented reasonably fast with no new assets required with the hopes of something of the sort being included in RoS (which i highly doubt).
How will this work when you will always one shot other players? Even if they add a pvp coefficient it will then make the dps discrepancy larger. Try to remember damage ranges from 20% to near 4000%

In all seriousness i don't think that with 800k health pools ppl will continue to get one shotted specially since crit damage is no longer as high as in vanilla.

How isn't it it as high? We only lost one barb passive....
Also... we have 3k dps x 100 (main stat) x 40 (skill) (12M) base damage even before crits.
Weapons provide fewer ChD and with less options due to having only 4 primary stats the ChD will not get as high, but i guess you could be right since i've yet to see any brawling in the beta i don't know how much dmg players are receiving atm, but some kind of debuff reducing damage to players could be implemented, like the brawling area has.
But I'm a sucker for anything PvPvE, so I'll probably like any idea anyone introduces with that concept.
I still can't believe they never considered the idea of introducing races between "groups". It would be so much fun inside a clan, have different groups of people competing. Would give Bounties and Rifts a lot more meaning if people could show how their skills make up for their character not being as badass as their clanmate's
something that fits in diablo universe is:
fight for the worldstone.
angels vs demons and player teams in both sides.
fight for the control of the worldstone.
Those would be awesome extra modes, like a domination mode (arathi basin style battleground for ppl that played wow or conquest for ppl playing bloodline champions or dominion for people playing LoL), there are many games out there with these modes, they are not new, and diablo's longevity would benefit greatly from them, although i still think we need something for RoS because as it stands it will get boring really fast unfortunatly.
