So I took a biochemistry course in the spring semester (current one). I studied ridiculously for it. I got a 60 on the first exam. That didn't make me stop studying. I studied more for the second, and got an 82. Exam 3 was to be done right before the final exam was handed out to us. I studied a ridiculous amount for the two. I got way nervous because I didn't know several questions in exam 3, and kinda lost focus. I tried my best. I did well on the final. Now the grades for the two are out. I got a 38/100 in the third exam, and a 75 on the final. The 38 FUCKED my average. Most of what I've done was for nothing. Now I'm super pissed off.
It's so fucking ridiculous. I thought i knew everything, but she surprised everyone with a near impossible third exam. I finished the final in quarter of the time given for it, and got the 75. Shit happens, but I really wanted a high grade for this course, which would help get my parents more financial aid. I really think more about them than myself when this shit happens. I have good grades in other courses, but it's still annoying.
Yeah. It's pretty frustrating. This is my first year as well. I seriously don't want to get an academic probation. It isn't likely, but now the prospect of a 65 (my biochemistry average, the way I calculated it) looming over my head just makes me wonder "what if..what if" which I seriously hate.
Story of my life. I am pretty much the shittiest studier ever. I just can't seem to focus, so gratzi to you for actually having the attention span to focus on such a God awful subject as biochemistry. And don't sweat it, as Pryda said Shit happens.
LOL@me getting a 74 on my Creative Writing course. I don't fucking GET this university. I didn't get a single grade below a 78, which means the final project, which has a 40% chunk of my average, must have raped me. That doesn't make the LEAST bit of sense. I seriously give up. Seriously.
It really doesn't matter what kind of grades you get in college, as long as you pass. Hell it doesn't even matter what you study unless your gonna be like a doctor. A diploma is pretty much just a piece of paper saying "Hey I'm qualified"
It matters because I don't even wanna get close to getting an academic probation. I've never had ANY problems regarding my academics, and that shit isn't about to change now. An 81 on Health Education saved my ass.
Talk about pissed off, my GPA is fucked over now due to a B in woodshop. I've always had all A's, but my Dbag of a woods teacher gives me a B in a shitty class like woodshop. I'll never have a 4.0 again thanks to him. It was a sweet-ass poker table too, and he just looks at it and says B. There were no guidelines! But anyway Meph (Godric), they won't put you on probation for not doing well in biochemistry, it is biochemistry after all.

I know they won't. If I get an overall average of under a 68 they would, though. That's highly unlikely, since I got a 74 and an 81 now, and the two remaining courses I have done pretty good in. It pisses me off because I worked REALLY hard for Biochemistry, and in the end, it didn't work out the way I would have liked it to. Meh, shit happens, eh?
There was only 1 time when last minute revision paid off for me. I memorized 10 pages (1 side) of notes word for word in 2 hours.
I got the best freaking marks. Absolutely hilarious seeing as there were some blokes who were doing the usual after-exam gloating. But I was lucky I got questions that I could answer.
But you people are right on one thing-
SHIT HAPPENS!!!
40 is a pass mark? As in 40%? Wow, that is low. Over here it's 60% too. Actually, all our marks are over 12, 6 being the pass mark, but for some unknown reason representing 60%. It seems our educators piss on Mathematics. And this is for normal tests; for exams, 5 is the pass mark somehow also representing 60%. I never understood why don't they just tell us the percentage.
I have my last exam on Tuesday. It's a 3 hour Physiology final. God help me. I just KNOW I'll get screwed halfway into it because I'd start craving a cigarette.
Grades is the most stressing and frustrating aspect of my life.
My avarage grade is 9.2 (0 to 10) but at the end of this period it's going to be something like 8.0! Statistics and microeconomics test were insanely difficult =[ I'm really sad, specially because i worked hard.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"In time the hissing of her sanity
Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth

You mean you studied and got a 38 on the last one? Doesn't sound like you...
