Alright. We've done this plenty of times at boards were I post in. It's a fun thing, and it should ONLY be a fun thing. Please don't turn it into a flame/troll fest. Ratings will come along with a reason, and if you don't like a rating that you're given, don't bitch about it, it's the person's opinion. This will be done one user at a time/thread. You give a rating /100, not /10 because I don't want to have to handle .something bullshit. Remember to give some kind of reason as to why you've given a user a specific rating. Help make this a good experience, and not a sore one. Cheers.
It would work if people knew how to handle criticism, hence why rep crashed and burnt.
(Yeah, I just brought that up)
Seriously though, if people lightened up and learned how to handle criticism without rushing off to the moderators, we would easily be able to have such a thread.

One user per thread, and it hasn't started yet. I'm assuming he will do himself first, then the rest of the more active/well known users.
... Though, thank you for your kind rating
Btw, just for clarification, this isn't a forum game, right?
This is more along the lines of the "rate the diablo character" threads you had, cept with users.
... Am I correct?

Notice how many people immediately begin moderating and placing judgment even prior to placing the bulk of their post. Usually its judge first, degrade others in order to make themselves look and feel more important (the need for reputation and acknowledgment) and then proceed to make their posts as usual.
Some people on here just want to be moderators so badly they take on the role regardless and tell others how they should conduct themselves. Having a reputation system is a bad idea because reputation is like a narcotic. You would be happy only when you have it and when you don't... And since most of the administrators and mods consistently downplayed what rep was, we can safely say that having reputation is irrelevant. It either makes one feel good or bad about themselves. It merely was a tool to personify a god like status to some, who a few felt they deserved it. What we need to do is put all that aside and focus more on our community and the fact that we are all fans of the Diablo series.
I call for rules to punish those who try to moderate and manipulate others when they themselves are not an administrator or a moderator. Consistently doing so enrages others and is trolling. Either you're an asshole or you aren't. It is NOT your job to moderate. Post and be done with it.

Ah, I see what it's about. I didn't catch the concept at first, I thought it was a regular rating thread where you rate the person above. This seems a bit more organized.
This could crash, but it could probably work as well. Just ask the user that is going to be rated if he wants to be rated.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Yes.
I don't get how people started rating, I though my original post was clear enough. This will start soon. And no, I won't go through the trouble of asking people if they wanna get rated..it will be fun, not a fucking movie critique but regarding a specific user. Just post your rating, and that's it. No "thank you!" or "wtf!" or anyt of that shit. Just like the "Rate..." threads that I've held before.

Who could we be referring to?
Anyhow...
How was I moderating?
By pointing out that people need to work on maturity?
That's constructive criticism.
Nowhere did I bring up rules, report posts, call up moderators, ect.
Yes, I'm increasing my self worth in general by saying that several users were not mature during the reputation days. My epenis is the only thing that keeps me trucking on through my days.
I would have been scrambling for a moderator position, had I reported posts like mad, told people to stop flaming, thrown down some rule quotes, ect...
Instead, I nearly trolled several users, and gave my viewpoints.
Also, two quotes from me doesn't qualify as "many people".
It's "one person."

I also would have agreed that rep is a bad thing, since that's what the site staff decided.
Sweet Jesus, contradicting evidence!!
Not to mention I was on the verge of trolling several users. Had I been going for a staff position, I probably would have posted something like a suggestion to change the rules, combined with an examination of one person's post(s).
Oh wait...
Lol, I wasn't arguing at all that we need rep back, just saying that general immaturity was the cause of the rep system crashing and burning. Had we been mature about it, people would not have tripped balls about red boxes.

You do realize that you've just totally contradicted yourself, right?
You're calling for rules that punish moderation...
Yet what do you call telling users to work past the rep system (second quote), you've called for new rules, you've tried to define what leads to trolling (see above), you've told users how to conduct themselves ("It is NOT your job to moderate")
Whereas, myself I bitched indirectly at users for not being mature.
If anything, you're the one seeking a staff position, not myself.

Lol@me being here forever, being very active, well like and everything, and not even being offered anything close to staff. Fucking ungrateful sluts..I'M LEAVING!
Lol, I wasn't arguing at all that we need rep back, just saying that general immaturity was the cause of the rep system crashing and burning. Had we been mature about it, people would not have tripped balls about red boxes.
Are you actually serious? I don't think you really are. I remember you were less than happy when someone neg rep you about using colorful language. Then you found out it was Rykker and you felt a bit better.
The rep system didn't crash and burn because of immaturity. It crashed because people love spending time on the site and they care. Now having someone literally trolling your ass by leaving a nice anonymous comment is not in the least way a pleasant experience.
It essentially degrades the time on the site.
Lol @ me not giving out a single neg rep during the days of its existence. I am not boasting but I saw the feature as being unnecessary, overly simplistic and greatly loved by cowards.
If you have a problem, come out with it in the open. The pretext was that a lot of people don't have the skill to debate about something...but then there's only one thing out of it really, learn how to! Instead of resorting to pathetic cheap means.
Don't fool yourself. The rep system was a fucked up piece shitty crap. Now it's gone- good riddance.
Oh you edited your post. You said just a little earlier about how you saw it was a user you respected and adjusted accordingly...
I wonder whether it would have been different if it was a newcomer?
In any case you say you adjusted your actions? How so? I still find your post quite similar to how they were(but still awesome I would have to concede).
But I would say it's a pretty safe bet that people know how to distinguish an insult from criticism. You are deluding yourself into thinking that there are touchy fools around who can't handle criticism.
Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
It would be 100 if you hadn't made a thread exactly like those you were complaing about in you other thread.
Please don't hit me with your awesomness. *bows*
EDIT: Yeah, ninja'd. I don't know why, but it happens all the time. Maybe I write too slowly...
It's not the same concept, Turmobil. You will see as it goes along.
Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
Your a cool guy but sometimes can be kind of too dicky.
(Yeah, I just brought that up)

Hmm... who to rate, who to rate...
Zhar: 9.5/10
You have a beautiful voice (no homo), you live in Canada, and you knew how to make some awesome stories.
You get docked half a point though because you don't talk to me on Hamachi anymore... :ermm:

Followed closely by "Challenge accepted."
Did I trip balls and call for the destruction of the system after getting a neg?
Nope.
Did I revenge rep him as soon as I found out who it was?
Nope.
Did I bitch at him for murdering my green boxes?
Nope.
Did I act immaturely through the incident?
Nope.
Did I take it as constructive criticism, and adjust my actions based on what others found annoying about me?
Sure did.
I wonder whether it would have been different if it was a newcomer?
