Released today, so probably no one tried yet. Gonna buy it anyways, always supporting indie developers... but anyone ever heard of that or maybe even any early birds here who already played a few minutes?
The main praise is about coop mode, but I wonder if it's also nice in solo player mode (when my coop D3 friends are offline). Anyways, it looks quite nice.
I started Terraria once, didn't really get to me, maybe I did the wrong things in the beginning. But I shall try it again - after I've tried Forced ;-) Have the Steam version though, not sure if that was a "bad choice" (was on a Steam sale, didn't even know there was a non-Steam version, would have bought that for sure).
Let me know what you think of Forced Bagstone, I'm thinking of buying it as well. Let us know if it actually works well in coop (or if there are connection issues, etc.).
And Terraria seem like really bland and boring at first...
... digging through Dirt, feeling the weakest being alive (well, at least stronger than those Dragon Quest Slimes :P), scavenging pots and hidden chests for any survival tools you can find, surviving the night, and mining ore at the speed of a snail....
... but with some persistence, the pace starts picking up, you start finding these awesome items, you start equipping yourself and dealing with things you woulnd't imagine facing before, insanely hard tasks suddenly become very easy (like mining big Underground chasms or going into the Corruption), you stop hiding and you start hunting...
... and then you find out there's still things out there that scare the shit out of you (underground Jungle, Dungeon, hardmode...)... and that's what keeps you moving, discovering things, digging and exploring, and every now and then just relaxing and building whatever you wanna build at that time.
Hopefully this sparks your curiosity so you give it another shot (I don't know how much you played it :P).
I'll create another Terraria thread if that's okay. Got some questions... and this part of the forum is not over-visited anyways, so I guess I can just use this to ask my stupid questions about it ;-)
Back on topic: I only played it for a couple of minutes. Only single player, can't really say anything about coop yet. But the reason why I stopped is that the movement is purely WASD, although you look on your character as in any ARPG (actually, the game looks 1:1 like Torchlight). The campaign mode starts off with some trials and the progression menu highlights that there might be 75 trials, and I'm not up for that tonight. Combat system was a bit awkward but I can't really give it a full assessment as I didn't spend an hour to familiarize with it.
The few minutes of campaign mode I've seen lead me to believe that at least this mode is some kind of Torchlight-looking, WASD-controlled ARPG that offers many many different trials (with different rewards for some challenges, like a time challenge). Can't really say anything else about it, since I switched to Terraria (=> creating a thread right now).
Forced looks really nice and the reviews for it have been quite stellar. I'm afraid I'm going to have to squeeze it in my super small free time at some point. :/

That was my own experience with the game, exactly like that. I got initiated by a friend, and suddenly I was playing it nonstop (always wanting to see "what's next", I need that ore type, I need that upgraded armor!), addicted to the very palpable and concrete sense of progression.
A progression that didn't get planned by a developer (for me to follow a preset path), but rather one that happened naturally in an very random manner (random world and items), and also different than most games out there today.
The problem I am having with Forced is the people on there don't seem to be very bright or they are just there to screw around. If you do get this game don't do pugs.

The game is a couple of days old, of course you have people who haven't fully understood all aspects of the game yet. Besides, pugs are by definition somewhat chaotic. The only difference is DotA, where everyone is a freaking expert and I'm just the super noob, which is why I absolutely disliked it and never got into it.
