"Well, I guess now is as good of time as any for proper introductions." Borin hesitated for a moment before continuing.
"Some of these men have saved my life, more than once. I suppose I can trust them with my real name at least". Borin thought to himself.
"I told you my name is Stryder, but everyone calls me Borin. I live in the Shrival Wilds where I learned my bow skills." Borin made sure not to divulge too much information to lead to his true identity.
"I was walking through a market when a merchant offered me a great deal. I followed him down an alley and was ambushed. That is how I was captured." Borin informed the group.
"Perhaps we should gather ourselves and rest for a bit before heading out." Borin suggested to the group.

Borin watched as the bear on the deck transformed back into a human.
"I'll protect the archer!" Borin heard the man say soon followed by "Do not worry, I'll stop any more slavers and the Kraken from getting to you. Unload a volley into that Kraken,"
Borin watched as the man then turned into a giant tiger. He leaped and mauled another tentacle that was coming for Borin.
"Thank you." Borin said as he patted the tiger on his head.
"ACT QUICKLY, WE NEED TO BRING IT DOWN!!" Borin heard Dagon yell across the boat.
Borin went to grab another arrow from its quiver but felt nothing left. He unholstered his quiver to take a look. All Borin saw was the bottom of the quiver. "Now what?" Borin thought to himself. He scouted the ship for any materials that he could use. Just as another tentacle hit the deck of the ship, Borin saw the shards of wood splinters flying into the air. Borin raced around the area and collected as many as he could.
"These will have to do" Borin thought as he readied piece after piece onto his bow. Firing the splinters one-by-one the archer unleashed a barrage of attacks onto the Kraken. The first splinter wavered through the air. Fire engulfed the splinter as it shot towards the Kraken. The next splinter, imbued with the same frost that held the beast made its mark as well. Lightening and poison imbued shards of wood also each made their mark into other tentacles. The beast lashed about as his remaining tentacles all succumbed to each of the splinters effects. One burned while the other shattered into ice. One remained attached by was fried by the lightening coursing through it, the last fell to decay as the poison spread its evil through the tentacle.
"All that is left is the Kraken's head. Strike it deep in its head." Borin yelled out to the rest of the group.

While Borin's attention was on the Kraken, one of the slavers had snuck up on Borin. The slaver hit the side of Borin's head with a club. Borin began to fall to the ground as the slaver pulled out his sword. Right as the slaver was about to stab Borin through, Borin remembered the daggers he took from the supplies crate. He pulled them out of his bracers as he held them in his hands, sparks began flying from the blade. Borin thrust the dagger upwards into the mans thigh. Although the daggers pentetration was not fatal the lightening that shot form the daggers to the man's heart was. The man convulsed violently as the lightening coasred through his body. The slaver eventually fell to the ground as his body continued to shake.

Borin chased back after his bow as the Kraken continued his assault on the ship. The Kraken wrapped his tentacles around the ship attempting to bring it under the water. Borin spotted his bow slowly slipping towards the edge of the ship. Borin raced after it and grabbed his bow right as it fell over the edge.
Borin readied hismelf for another shot. This time the arrow being removed from his quiver had a hazy olive colored cloud swirling around the arrow. Borin aimed his shot at the tentacle dragging the ship down. He pulled back on the bow and released the arrow. The arrow found the soft under belly of the tentacle and dug deep into the flesh. The area around the arrow began to fade to a garyish color. The skin began to crack and break apart from itself. The entrance wound grew larger and larger as the poison from the arrow began to do its work. The poison eventually spread to a large enought area that the flesh of the tentacle decayed away releasing the monsters grip of the ship.
"If we freeze the beast it will be much easier to stop" Borin heard Vaker yell. Broin grabbed three arrows at once and readied them on his bow. The azure colored arrows left the bow as Borin aimed for water near the belly of the beast. The arrows struck the water and instantly beagn freezing the water where the beasts body was portruding from it. The mosnter wirthed about as it tried to loosen the ice's grip around him. Borin grabbed another three arrows and aagin pierced the water around the Kraken. The ice thickened as it beagn to hold the beast in place.

Not one to usually take the command of another, Borin could not help but agree with the strategy. Borin took his place a top a large pile of crates. He steadied himself and prepared for the assault.
Borin's first attempt was to fire arrow after arrow in a storm of arrows that rained down onto the the Kraken. Borin's normal arrows did little to even penetrate the skin of the beast.
"Dammit. That beast's hide is thick" Borin yelled out to the rest of the group.
Borin then pulled out another arrow. As the arrow rose from the quiver an amber glow began pulsating. Borin Launched the arrow into the air. The arrow pierced the skin of the beast, lodging itself in the side of the beasts head. A few seconds went by until the arrow violently erupted. The beast let out a horrible cry.
The Kraken swung to more tentacles at Borin as they smacked right into his chest. Borin went flying across the deck of the ship as his bow went flying in the opposite direction.

"New plan, we rush the upstairs, take the remaining slavers by storm, and make it to an escape boat." and with that said, Borin jumped over the mangled body at the bottom of the stairs and headed to he deck of the boat.
Borin saw the slavers with their spears and hooks fighting off the massive tentacles slamming down onto the ship. A tentacle came flying down towards Borin. Borin barely jumped out of the way just in time to have the tentacle slam down and crack the wood where Borin was once standing. Borin stood back up to gather himself. Just then one of the slavers noticed him and yelled out "The Slaves, they are escaping.".
Borin reached behind his back to draw and arrow from his quiver. As the arrow left the quiver a blue glow began to emanate from the arrow. The arrow progressively changed as frost began to form on the arrows tip. Borin then un-holstered his bow and held the arrow in place. Within a second, Borin pulled back on the string and released it. The arrow raced towards it target. As soon as the arrow made contact, the yelling slaver became coated in a thick layer of ice.
Borin readied for another shot only to find nobody had heard the warning of the slaver due to their on going battle with the Kraken.
Borin raced back to the top of the stairs and shouted "Hurry everybody!! We need to find a way off of this boat. Most of the slavers are occupied with their own battle. Now is our chance."

Borin watched as Dagon began sifting through crate after crate. Eventually, Dagon found the crates that contained their gear. Borin patiently held back from the crowd eagerly grabbing their weapons and armor. After the crowd had cleared, Borin walked up to the crates Nd began looking for his valuable possesions. Borin had found what he was looking for. He pulled his golden mask from the crate. Borin turned away from the rest of the group as he lowered his hood. He slid the mask over his face.
"Much better" Borin thought to himself feeling much more comfortable around the group of strangers he found himself in. Borin dug back into the crates looking for his other gear. He reached down to the bottom of the crate where he finally saw his illustrious bow and quiver. Borin holstered his weapons onto his back. He then found his chest plate made of light chainmail and the rest of his leather armor. Borin took one last look into the crates for anything else useful. He found two daggers that he could keep in his bracers. Thinking back on his last skirmish, Borin thought it would be a good idea to have a back up plan for those close situations.
"Well that's much better" Borin said to the rest of the group.
Borin then heard the slavers screaming about a kraken. Dagon soon followed with their plan of escape.
"That seems like out best bet. We should move now." Borin suggested to the group.

Just as the guard was about to stab Borin, he heard the man who was sitting next to him shout out "CONGELO!". A bright crystal flew from his hand and into the chest of his assailant.
Borin stood back up and once again ensured that his hood covered his face.
"Thank you" Borin held out his hand and shook the hand of the man who saved him. Seddrick smiled back at him.
Soon after, Borin saw Vaker form a small ball of fire which finally illuminated the room. Borin watched as all of the other men began to look around at one another. Borin felt a bit nervous without his mask on. He was unsure if anyone would recognize him for who he actually was. Borin pulled his hood that much further over his face to help protect his identity.
"I need to get my mask back." Borin thought to himself, worried about some of these other captives and what they might do if they knew who he was, especially the other mages.
Like I was saying, where do you think they have stored all of our weapons and armor?" Asked Borin to anyone willing to listen. "I am afraid without my bow I am not much help but if we can locate our gear, I am sure I can aid in our liberation." Borin admitted not having much skill in fighting hand to hand.

Borin looked over at Drangar as a guard made his way into the room. Borin heard Drangar lie to the guard. He looked over to see him ready a hidden blade. Drangar quickly jumped onto the guard as his blade met with the guards back. After receiving the key to his chains, Borin saw Drangar toss him the keys to his chains. Borin hastily removed his chains as he continued passing on the keys to the other men on the ship.
"Thank you." Borin said to Drangar as he rubbed his wrsits to relieve some of the pain that the chains has caused.
"Where do you think they are keeping our armor and ,,," Borin began to say until he saw another guard creeping through the darkness about to avenge his fallen partner's death on Drangar. Borin jumped onto the man throwing both of them on the floor. Borin and the guard wrestled on the floor until the guard out powered Borin and ended up on top of him with his sword drawn.
"Somebody Help!" Borin yelled out to the other men.

"Sir... do you know what is happening here?" The man asked Borin.
"I am afraid I have no idea" Borin answered.
Just as Borin was about to ask the man's name he heard another person whisper "Safe to say none of us wish to stay here, so, follow my lead, we're going to get out of this one way or another."
"At least someone here has a plan" Borin thought to himself.
"GUARD, HELP, A MAN IN HERE IS TRYING TO FREE HIMSELF WITH MAGIC!!!" He heard the man shout.

Borin slowly opened his eyes, attempting to get his surroundings in focus. The objects in front of him were hazy at first. Borin rubbed his eyes as everything around him became clearer. Able to see through the darkest of nights, Borin had no trouble seeing everything and everyone around him thanks to the faint glow of their shackles.
Borin sat up against the wooden wall behind him. After resting his back, Borin realized that his mask was missing. Boring quickly threw the hood of his cape over his head, covering his face from anyone else who might be able to see him.
"Dammit. How could I have been so naive? I know better than that. I shouldn't trust anyone." Borin thought to himself as he laid hidden in the shadows in the corner of the boat.
Borin looked around as he saw many other men in his same predicament. The other men all began talking, divulging information about who they were and what had happened to them. Their names littered the air as all of them were eager to plan a strategy for their escape.
"Who... who is... there?" he heard a man cough out.
"You may call me Stryder" Borin said quietly, still hiding his true identity from these strangers.
"It appears that there at least twelve of us down here from what I can see." Borin informed to the rest of the men. Borin continued to look around and saw the faces of the men captured. Some showed shame and fear of their capture while others showed courage and determination.
"Perhaps these men can help me with my liberation from here." Borin thought as he remained hidden from view of the others.
